Another favorite of mine that didn't catch on.
Ten years ago, Kevin Keegan (played by Sam Robards), a student at Roosevelt High excelled at his journalism studies but proved to be a disruptive influence, not caring much for the regimentation and strict discipline of high school. For a while he was a TV news photographer, but now he's back and ready to instill the same love for journalism into a new generation of kids. After some initial skepticism, his students warmed up to him and turned into creative reporters producing both light and serious news pieces about their world.
This show was produced during the height of the new video craze. VCRs had only been around for a few years, and videocameras (vidcams) were relatively new. So the idea of high school journalism students producing a weekly cable TV news show, instead of your standard school newspaper, was pretty cutting edge at the time.
This show combined elements of "Welcome Back Kotter", "Lou Grant", "Room 222", and possibly "The Paper Chase" into one and made it topical and original.
