NOTE: This rescue center is not real, it is only a virtual creation of Virtual Horse Ranch.com
WELCOME! You have come across the official site of Titan Thoroughbred Rescue Center (TTRC)!
At TTRC, we are dedicated to improving the thoroughbred on VHR. We buy cheap, abused thoroughbreds off the market, and give them a one-in-a-million home. If they are untrained, we will have them levelled, if they have any health problems, we will send them to our vet. Most will stay at our centre until completely well, and adopted out at a fair, cheap price, to reliable, friendly players, who look after, train, and if breed, responsibly do so. Adopters will also be given a free, unique banner, saying 'I helped Titan Thoroughbred Rescue Center. I adopted ____ And gave him/her a home.' Also, if the new owner of the horse decide that he/she can no longer care for the horse, they are encouraged to return the horse to us, and we will give a full refund. Some horses will be kept in the centre for the rest of their lives, to maybe compete in events to earn money, breed pure bred foals, which will be sold confidently to earn money, or as a stud or broodmare. Sadly, some horses will be too old to be trained, overbred or inbred. If that sadly happens, and nothing can be done, then we shall have to retire them. We will not sell them to unsuspecting newbies as this may make matters for the thoroughbred breed worse.

When did you begin the center?
The 4th of August, 2005.
VHR is only a virtual game, therefore, how do you rescue horses?
Yes, VHR horses are not real, they are simply artificial genes, and do not have a real personality, and do not have feelings. But, if you think about it, people owning sick, bad statted horses and un-trained horses will not be very good for the game. I have heard a lot of complaints from people about having to go through lists and lists of terrible horses just to find a decent stud. Part of the game's is to try and improve these horses. That is what we are doing, trying to improve thoroughbreds for future generations of VHR players. And so, a rescue ranch does good for all players of VHR.
What sort of situations do you rescue horses from?
Many. Most of them are untrained at an old age, plus are a gelding or sterile mare, which means that they cannot breed neither. A lot also have terrible stats. Some have a lot of potential, but aren't getting anywhere because their owners can't be bothered training them, competiting them, or breeding them to decent broods/studs. A lot of these are foals, but we do see the odd horse with good stats that isn't being bred to worthy partners.
What do you do to help such horses?
There is the odd case where we see a horse that cannot be improved or helped. Horses that are geldings, sterile mares, about 20 years old, and have no training, are horses that cannot be helped. So, as long as they can't BREED, we'll leave them where they are, so as to not waste the center's funds. We will take a look at their foals and be sure that they are not in need of rescuing. But, if the horse IS able to breed, and is very cheap, then we can buy it and retire it, ensuring that it will not be able to pass on it's unfortunately bad genes to foals.
If we see a horse that needs our help, but is not for sale, at a rediculous price or the owner will not sell it to us, then what we will do is 'Keep an eye on' that ranch. Same goes for ranches that we believe are not looking after their horses well, and are not breeding them properly.
What exactly is 'Keeping an eye on' a ranch?
When we notice a ranch that is making the thoroughbred breed worse, then we will watch it over a period of time until it improves. DO NOT WORRY, we do not make fun of such ranches, and we do not reveal these ranches to ANYONE except special staff members or co-owners. We MIGHT offer advice to these ranch owners, but will not tell them that their ranch is being watched. We aren't doing anything wrong by simply watching the ranch,we do not disobey VHR standard rules and we do not take them into our own hands.
NOTE: If you receive a message from us offering advice or anything, don't worry, it does not necessarily mean you are on watch, we're also here to just be friendly! |
