PREVIEW FOR SOUTH PARK64!!!!
Acclaim has paid big bucks for the video game license on these four bad-mouthed children and their townmates. But what kind of game could you possibly make from this weird, enevelope-pushing, 2D cartoon?
Developer Iguana, have the answer to that one: a first person shooter of course. They are taking South Park into the 3rd dimension with their South Park shooter based on the Turok and Goldeneye games. Those construction-paper cutouts have been expanded so that they now have width (especially Cartman).
The game is about a mysterious comet which has returned to Earth and is affecting the happenings of South Park. Turkeys go wild, aliens become more evil, and the Son of Skuzzlebutt is a pain in the ass. You must take control of Cartman, Kenny, Kyle or Stan and save the town by... well... blowing the hell out of stuff.
Weapons will include the auto-egger(An egglauncher), and the unlikely cow-launcher. Power up with Cheesy Poofs!
Like Goldeneye, South Park 64 will also feature up to 4-player multiplayer games including deathmatch and capture the flag.
It remains to be seen whether South Park 64 will be a good game in its own right, or whether its is simply a rushed attempt to make a game with the South Park name on it. It looks to be promising and should be in stores in Canada by the 23rd or 22nd of December.
Take Me Home Dude!
