Buffy died in the season finale, but that doesn't signal the end of things. The show, as well as everyone on the cast, has a contract for two more years. That takes us through Season 7.

"Just want to say again, finally, definitively, and in LIVING color that BUFFY WILL BE BACK NEXT SEASON STARRING Sarah Michelle GELLAR (of television's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer")on UPN, Tuesdays at 8:00."
Next season we'll be getting an all musical episode of Buffy, thanks to our ever brilliant Joss. Here's the 411 on it from Joss' mouth: "Next year, there WILL be a musical Buffy episode. I'm working on it already. And people, I'm warning you: it just might suck. But I'll do my best. I'm writing the songs and the script (And of course I'll shoot it). The one thing I know for sure is I got some great singers in my cast. It's gonna be the hardest thing we ever tried to pull off, and that Includes the COMPLETELY UNSHOOTABLE episode 100 that nearly killed me."
