Sarah Michelle Gellar lived on the Upper East Side of New York City for 17 years. Born on April 14, 1977, Sarah began her acting career only four years later. From the very beginning, she left her mark on television when she appeared on a series of controversial Burger King ads. The ads were the first to mention a competitor's name, which infuriated McDonald's. Burger King, Sarah and her agent were slapped with a lawsuit in which they ultimately won.

Sarah continued her television career and appeared in films next to Sally Kirkland, Robert Lupone, Matthew Broderick and Susan Lucci. Sarah's characteristic beauty landed her a position as a Wilhelmina Model. Her regular television appearances were made on "A Woman Named Jackie", an NBC mini-series in which she played Jacqueline Bouvier. She then starred in "Swans Crossing". Although the show did not last long, there are still many fans of the show (and corresponding websites) that celebrate her acting.

It was not until 1993 when her acting talents were widely recognized as Susan Lucci's daughter on "All My Children". A dark image was left behind when she left the show soon after winning an Emmy. Many uninformed people believed the award affected her leaving when in fact she had made plans with the show months earlier. She moved to California where she continued her career with "Beverly Hills Family Robinson".

In 1996, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" appeared on the WB network as a mid-season replacement. Sarah had originally tried out for the part of Cordelia Chase, but Joss Whedon made the smart decision of casting her as Buffy Summers.

Sarah's work, next to starring in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", included the popular teen thrillers, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Scream 2". In 1999, "Simply Irrestible" and "Cruel Intentions", both starring Sarah, were released.
