So many of us get so caught up in trying to read the Word of God, hoping that we recieve faith right in the minute of our reading. But what we must understand is that Faith does not come from the fact that we read, but it comes from our hearing. Many people in our world today are so bound up in trying to recieve faith by just reading and not hearing. Thats why in the scriptures it says "faith comes by hearing". See.... Faith comes by hearing, but hearing comes from the Word of God. When you read...you do not gain Faith. When you read...the more you Hear, which brings Faith.
So stop thinking about how much reading I can do and start thinking about what must I hear, how should I put this Word of God in my mind, so that I am able to increase my Faith. The many of you lack so much Faith is because you lack Hearing. So start focusing on how must you should hear and stop focusing on how much and how long you should read. Because if I were to read a harry potter book and not focus in on what I was reading, 9 times out of 10, I wont know a thing I just read. But if I were to focus on it and its concept, then most likely, I will be able to give you a brief summary of it.
That is how some of us are today. The only reason why we read it is because someone told us to or because you know that it is right. And then you want to complain on why you dont have as much as Faith as so and so. But realize this...ask yourself this question...who are you reading for..God or positive attention. Are you actually reading it and studing it or are you reading 1 chapter a day and never reviewing it again...hoping you gain some faith.
What Im saying is this..please dont get caught up thinking that Faith comes by so easy. Do your work and dont be lazy. God has a special plan for all of us and it would be a shame if you messed up Gods special plan just because you lack in hearing.
