Hi, my name is Painted Passion. I love to paint old, used or new furniture. What started out as a home craft project has grown into a business. All of my furniture is customized for the client who wants a focal point for any room of the house or even a whole room of furniture. I started painting about 7 years ago when an old chest in my basement needed serious rehabilitation. It was old pine and although abused over the years, it retainded some lovely curves and lines. The dresser was something that my parents had purchased for their first apartment and since that time it had been used in many incarnations (most recently in a laundry room storing old rags). I decided to just go ahead and *paint* it. I went to a craft store to buy what supplies I thought I would need. In no time, and with a great deal of hard work (sanding, sealing, priming), I had a chest of which I was very proud. A picture of that chest will soon appear on this page. Today that chest is in the entrance to our home and never fails to elicit a compliment. The furniture commissions were slow to start so I practiced on other old pieces of furniture in our basement. Soon family members were asking for *help* in creating something for their homes. I realized that not everyone could afford a customized piece of furniture so I created a line of smaller, less expensive decorative pieces. At the moment I am working on jewelry boxes, tea caddies in the shape of teapots, custom knobs for the kitchen or bathroom or as drawer pulls. Also in progress are wood finials that can be used on the ends of curtain rods, as hanging objects on drawers and armoires or just to spice up any piece of furniture. Really fun things to have around the house!! Please feel free to e-mail for information or just to chat about furniture painting.
