 www.maxpages.com/pacific/Fanning_Island Fanning Island (Tabuaeran), located just north of the equator in the central part of the Pacific Ocean approximately 1,000 miles south of Hawaii, is one of the Line Islands of Kiribati (pronounced kir-ee-bahs'). The tiny atoll is twelve miles long with a single entrance on the west. Kiribati has proclaimed that the entire country will be on the same time so Fanning Island's date is one day advanced over the date being experienced east of the International Date Line.
