St. Louis, located near the confluence of the mighty Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, has a long list of attractions which includes the familiar "Gateway to the West" Arch and the Mississippi River at its base. Tour boats, including paddlewheel steamboats, plying the waterway during the warmer parts of the year are close at hand. Other attractions include Forest Park, site of the 1904 World's Fair, with its world-class art museum, zoo and science center; the St. Louis Cathedral Basilica with the world's largest collection of mosaic art; the restored Union Station with its myriad shops and the always interesting Anheuser-Busch brewery tour with its Clydesdale stables.
