Gaspe (gas-pay'), located on the easternmost point of the Gaspe Peninsula, is a small port city on the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Perce (pur-say'), situated thirty miles south of Gaspe on the Gaspe Peninsula, is noted for its pierced rock stack that is directly offshore of the town. A large bird sanctuary is located at Perce Rock (Rocher Perce) and nearby Ile Bonaventure.
