I was told that my maternal grandparents on my mother side came from a long line of rabbis. My mom's grandfather was Joseph Rosenberg. I was wondering if there was any Rosenbergs related to the Katzenellenbogen. I was told we were but I want to make sure. I also want to know if Elijah Ben-Solomom was related to Katzenellenbogen. If so how was he related . My mom's sister says that Elijah Ben-Solomon the leader of Mitnagdim was the brother of Rabbi Rosenberg who died at the Mount of Olives. This place is in Israel. This Rabbi Rosenberg died at the age of 104. I would like to know if this all true.

NOTE: I would suggest that you either check out the link page on the Noda B'Yehuda website that contains a list of tours in Prague. You can find that page by looking at the left hand side of the website which contains an index of all the pages on the Noda B'Yehuda site.

Or you could go to the Jewish Community building in Prague. It is opposite the Alt-Neu Synagogue in the narrow street. You will recognize it because it has a huge Hebrew clock on it. You can ask about getting the key to the Fiberchova Cemetery where the Noda B'Yehuda is buried. The location of the cemetery is right near the TV tower in Prague.

I HAVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: I have more evidence for my saying that their were more generations in between Rabbi Matisyahu Treves and Rabbi Yechiel Luria.
On your website you have posted “R' YECHIEL LURIA (D. 1470). HE WAS THE FATHER-IN-LAW OF R' ISAAC (OF) KATZENELLENBOGEN B. approx 1465, AND THE FATHER OF THE FEMALE LURIA WHO MARRIED R' ISAAC OF KATZENELLENBOGEN in 1481. THEY WERE THE PARENTS OF R' MEIR KATZENELLENBOGEN” - but that would mean that Rabbi Yitzchak Katzelenbogen was born about five years after his fatherinlaw’s death, and was about sixteen when he married his wife about 11 years after her father’s death. These difficulties dissapear if we assume that there were more generations between Aaron Luria and Yechiel Luria.

Similarly on your website it says “R' MATISYAHU TREVES (1325/35 - D. 1385/87 Paris). He was the Chief Rabbi of Paris. He was the AV BAIS DIN in his community. He was the son of YOSEF TREVES (born 1305) who was known as "YOSEF TREVES THE GREAT". R' MATISYAHU WAS FATHER OF THE FEMALE TREVES WHO MARRIED R' SOLOMON SPIRA.

R' SOLOMON SPIRA and a FEMALE TREVES - She was the daughter of R' Matisyahu Treves (1325-1385), who was the AV BAIS DIN in his community. R' SOLOMON AND FEMALE TREVES WERE THE PARENTS OF MIRIAM SPIRA.

R' AARON LURIA -(1400'S) MIRIAM SPIRA = Aaron was the son of R' NATHANIEL LURIA. Miriam was a direct descendant of RASHI. She was the daughter of R' SOLOMON SPIRA and a FEMALE TREVES. R' AARON AND MIRIAM WERE THE PARENTS OF R' YECHIEL LURIA.”
It also says that Aaron Luria was born in the 1400’s. It therefore fits in better if Miriam Spira was the greatgrandaughter of Matisyahu Treves.
