Hell in the Cell
 Websites Powered by Max Pages

There have only been three Hell in the Cell mathces during a PPV in WWF history. Mick Foley has been in 2/3 of them. His first as Mankind and the last as Cactus Jack.

Hell in the Cell

Mankind vs Undertaker

King of the Ring 1998

This was indeed a classic match that many consider the greatest ever, at least for Mick Foley. The thing about this one was that they had to attempt to make this match more memorable than the first Hell in a Cell match(HBK vs Undertaker).

It was Mick's idea to start the match on top of the cell, which took awhile to convince the Undertaker to do.

So now the match starts atop the cage and the two begin the match. The two men are going at it back and forth as the crowd gets into the mood. Before Mick knows it he is flying off the top of the 16ft steel cage onto an announce table!

Many thought the match had ended as soon as it begin, as Mick was beging carried to the back on a stretcher. But no, not Mick Foley, he got up and started to climb the cage again!

This time he gets chokeslammed through the top of the cage into the ring!

Just for a side note, this was on the old federation ring. New ones were later built, which "bounced" and took more impact.

So here we are now, Mick Foley legitamitly knocked out cold in the center of the ring as the EMTs rush back to help him once again!

Another side note, Mick Foley didn't remember what happened for most of the match and had to watch video footage to connect the pieces.

Somehow he manages to continue and the match goes on. Mick dumps a bag full of thumbtacks on the mat and ends up being the pin cushion!

It was defiantly one Hell(no pun intended) of a match! Mick Foley gave the fans everything he had, his very soul.

This made his children cry and his wife wished for him to retire since this match.
But this would not be his last...

In this match Mick's 15 year career was put on the line. The Game was attempting to defend his belt and at the same time terminate Foley's unbelievable career. While Mick this time as Cactus Jack proved once more how much he wanted the gold, attempting to become the next WWF Champion.

Hell in the Cell

Cactus Jack vs HHH

No Way Out 2000

This match started out inside the cage and the two men battled it out for awhile without too much crowd reaction, due to the fact they knew and were waiting for things to come.

Eventually Mick threw steel steps at HHH which missed and made a whole in the side of the cage(the door had been locked). Mick threw himslef into the hole as to make it bigger, upon doing so he actually cut his arm on a piece of metal.

So now they are both outside the cage and continue fighting. They make their way up the side of the cage. HHH busts open Mick with barbed wire as he hangs off the side of the cage holding on for dear life. HHH manages to knock Foley off, who lands once again onto an announce table.

Although not as high as his first match(which he fell from a standing position, this time he was hanging off the side) still amazing.

No stretcher accompanied him this time, however, and he made his way back up the cage eventually and battled with HHH some more.

Now ontop Mick lights a 2x4 wrapped in barbed-wire on fire and proceeds to hit HHH with this over the head.

Unfortuanatly HHH managed to reverse a piledriver from Mick and sent Mick into the air. Mick came crashing back down onto the mesh fencing of the cage, which gave way, and Mick fell through once again!

This time, however, the ring collapsed where he fell(as to not almost kill him like last time!).

HHH shortly picked up a win via the Pedigree and therefore retiring Mick Foley.

Mick refused EMTs assitance and left on his feet, with blood on his face, tears in his eyes, and a sad little smile as he looked one last time at the crowd, his fans.

Or so we thought...

Foley Forever

4 weeks later Mick returned and it was announced he would make a one time only appearance at WRESTLEMANIA 2000!!!
Thus acomplishing his lifelong dream of Main Eventing a WrestleMania!
Although unsuccessful,(as far as not winning the title, which would have became vacant) Mick still accomplished his dream.
He had already become WWF Champion previously, the one thing he was told over and over he would never, ever get. Now he was able to fully complete his childhood dream and retire with that in his heart.

It is said that Mick Foley will eventually return to the bussiness, although not as an active in ring competitor, but will contribute in some way (And yes the "prophecies" came true when Mick was announced as the new WWF Commissioner by Shawn Michaels). Until then, God Bless him and may he enjoy his wife and kids.
