| INFORMATION FOR A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS ON THE INTERNET. A "wealth" of information for starting and promoting a successful business on the internet. Get a "FREE" Internet Marketing Center newsletter. POINTER #4 - ADVERTISE! ADVERTISE! ADVERTISE! *************************************************** Let's go back and talk about these tips. Pointer #1 - you can sell the shirt off of your back if you follow pointer #2, pointer #3 and pointer #4! Pointer #2 - I personally like these free websites. This website was created at www.maxpages.com. I am learning all the computer language, but at this time, I do not have the time to sit down and do it. I can use this "free" website and have my website done in less than one hour, and it is easy! Pointer #3 - 94% of all sales on the internet are done by secured credit card transactions. If you do not accept credit cards, you might as well turn off your computer! Only 4 out of every 1000 people purchase from you. At the bottom of this page, I will have some information for you to accept credit cards on line. This is a great company, and it is easy and cheap! Pointer #4 - Advertise! This is the most important tip! If you do not advertise, how is anyone going to know you have a business on the internet? You can even pay the $10,000.00 and up for someone to build your website for you, but if you do not advertise, all of that money is down the drain. Remember in the beginning when I told you that you can't get something for free? KEEP THIS IN MIND! I am going to share some personal information with you. I am a woman, who is married to a wonderful husband. I am going to be 30 years old this year. I own a daycare and my husband manages a utilities department. You would be here all day reading what are hobbies are, so I am not going to list them. I sell Yankee "Jar" Candles on the side. I purchased a computer, signed on with American Online as my Internet Service Provider and logged on. Then I sat there and said, "What the hell do I do now?" Well it took me about a month fo figure out pointer #2 (build a website). I already had pointer #1 (to sell Yankee "Jar" Candles). Then it took me another month to figure out which "free" website I liked best. I am selling my Yankee Candles through www.maxpages.com. Pointer #3 took me about 5 minutes to realize. Every website that I had visited could accept credit cards. I got hooked up to accept credit cards on line. Now Pointer #4 is a totally different aspect in itself. If you think about it, you could have a wonderful internet business... but if nobody knows where you are, how are they going to find you? One of the best ways that I can explain this is when you sign on to the internet through AOL or whoever you are signed up with, there is always a place where you type in a word or business you are looking for. Type in the word candles and hit search. On AOL Netfind, there is about 500,000 companies on the internet selling candles. The name of the game is to have your business listed in the top 20 of those "search engines". How do you do that? There are about 450 search engines and about 7000 free link pages and 1000's of classified ad areas. This is called advertising! How did you come across this website? Because of my advertising.
