My name is Mamun and I came from Bangladesh to the United State in 1997. I decided to migrate to the United States to get a better life. Although, Bangladesh was my native country I did not like it as much as I like in here. There was a lack of opportunities to influence my life style as how as I waned. My main point of view toward my life was to highly educate myself and get a good job with high salary, which will provide my adequate food and good livings with beautiful surroundings. When I was in Bangladesh, I realized that if I were highly educated I would not get any good job. So, therefore I migrated here with all of my family members. Now I am a student of NYCTC and I deserve that I am going to graduate very soon. Also my desire is to finiss the highest education level.

As days passed I grew up quickly. When I was nine years old I learned how to climb up the trees and pick the fruit from the tree. My parents did not let to climb up the tree because if I fall down and die. They always were after me to see whether I climb the tree or not. One day I saw a little bird screaming on a mango tree because it was wounded by a hunter. I saw it and climb on the tree to get it to sooth it’s wound. When I reach on the top branch, the branch was look like so flexible but I did not care whether I was falling down or not. After a while the branch cracked and disconnected from the tree and I fell down. First of all I fell on the roof of my house and then on the ground. Everyone was screaming because they though it was my last movement. I was out of my mind and chanceless. Every one was spilling water on my head and dragging me to the middle point of the yard including my mom. My mom was crying and rubbing my head. By that time I realized that I will not climb the tree forever and I do not do it now too.

As I was in dangerous situation in my baby life as I was in dangerous situations in my adult life too. I know that life is precious But, there was not much to enjoy in Bangladesh. Sometimes I had good time and sometimes I had bad times and I had to deal with many dangerous situations such as being hijacked and being robed also many others.
One of the dangerous situations I remember the most that gave me hard time to deal with which is “being robed”. When I was 15 years old, One day I was going to the capital city of Bangladesh (DHAKA) to visit and transfer some money to my brother. It was the time of great depression in 1995. Money had well worth value by that time, everything was black and blue. People were about to be mad because of food and they killed each other for money. Robbers were all over the city. They gathered in every corner on the street to rob reach people.

Anyway, when I got off the bus and took a tricycle to my original destination. Contemporary I got in the tricycle one robber got in to other tricycle and followed me. Before getting in another tricycle he asked whether or not he could share my tricycle and go to same destination. By that time I said “no sir there are lots of tricycle available you can take one of them if you rally want to take one”. So he did it but he followed me.
I felt so very congested because of his behavior and my breath stopped in my through.

When I got off the tricycle and walked in to the block, the robber overtook by my side and stood in front of me with a short gun. He pointed the gun and said that “hey! Give me all the money that you have otherwise I will blow your had in the air”. Bye that time my legs were shaking because I had more than 20,000 Bangladesh “TAKA” which was being taken for my brother’s college fee. I did not want to lose them and I did not want to die too. It was a death and life situation. I was arguing with him and wasting his time for any one to come in the meantime. While I was conversing with him a police was passing by us and I winked at him by representing that “he is trying to rob me and kill me”. Police understood my idea and pulled his gun and took robbers gun a way from his hand and arrested him. I took a deep breath, shrugged my arms and went home. I realized that life was precious but not safe. anthem

To summarize that, it does not matter what my young life was look like I will try to do my best and avoid the dangerous situations. My goal is to be successful in my life and help the nation. I also want myself to be liked by people as like as people did when I was an innocent baby.
