It was basically related to re-engineering of programs thus making it more easy for maintening, understanding the code, including customisation of the old programs with new features. The project included printing of several insurance forms by getting the form names related to a particular policy passed as input to other program which gets all tag names for those forms and also collects the data elements required to fill the tags for the policy by calling several common procedures. The tag names filled with the related information is then passed to the programs which handles the printing of documerge forms.

Project: Family Card
The FDR system provides a process for combining the activities of distinct cardholders accounts called Family Card for the purpose of combining credit lines, communication, statements and rewards pooling. Currently, when the last remaining account holder in a family group is de-linked from the group during a month, the historical data is deleted from the DB2 family master record by a month end job. If the account holder in the family group is not the last member in the group in question, then nothing happens to the historical data after that account is de-linked. In a case where the account holder being
De-linked happens to be the last member of the family group, the historical information, which is saved, is not currently available on any screen or report. Through this request, an audit trail is created via the on-line system. Clients can use this audit trail to track the relationship of a family account, i.e. information like relationship codes, strategy codes, the group an account holder belongs to at any point of time and the duration for which he/she was the member of that group, etc.
Role: Involved in analysis of programs, program coding according to specification and testing.

Report Expansion Project
The project was being executed for FDR, which provides software solutions for Credit Card Companies. The clients of FDR plan on providing their credit card services on a worldwide scale. The main object of this project is to modify all Report headers and corresponding detail lines as per the requirements due to expansion of Monetary fields. The project also includes currency conversion since certain countries do not have cents in their monetary field. For instance when the reports are printed for such countries as Japan, the cent portion is not to be displayed on the report, which requires a change in the format of the report for which it is being printed.
Role: Involved in analysis of programs, Designing of report layouts, Preparation of report documents, program coding and testing.

Project: Monetary Expansion Project
FDR has identified the Domestic BankCard System as the likely base system for the future worldwide system. To make these systems capable of handling all foreign currencies, FDR has identified the need to expand monetary fields from their current mix to a standard format. This will allow transaction and aggregate fields to handle both large ticket purchases and country monetary variance requirements. The scope of the monetary expansion project is to expand the Transaction fields to Cobol picture clause S9 (11) V99 and all Aggregate fields to S9 (15) V99. The areas where the changes are made include Copybook items, JCLs, Procedures and the Working Storage fields. The affected fields in the Copybook items were provided by FDR and the changes were made based on this information. As a programmer Analyst in development and validation team, the responsibilities included writing bridges, writing passer programs, Validation of programs and copybooks and program testing.
Role: Involved in modification of programs depending on the changes in the copybooks, writing bridges, Writing Passers, Re Formatting the data sets and Testing.
