TRAC II Enhanced Reporting Project
The TRAC II Enhanced Reporting Project will give the DST clients the ability to submit three on-request jobs that print report packages needed for various audiences from the JOBSUB facility. These Report Packages are:
Employer Package
Audit Package
5500 Reporting package
Each individual report in each of the three packages can be excluded if so desired to create customized report packages. Several of the reports produced by these on-request jobs are modified and several new reports will be created to meet the current industry standards for the larger client base. This enhancement gives the client operators a fast and easy method of producing annual and quarterly report packages for various audiences, such as plan sponsors and auditors, without DST intervention.
Role: Involved in studying the existing modules, coding changes and coding new programs in par with DST Coding Standards, peer review of programs, preparation of unit test plans, unit testing, Comparex and Inspector Outputs, Test Outputs reports and file dumps using FileAid, system testing and the JOBSUB Facility testing. Same Day Cash Management System (SDCM) - PHASE I:
DST Systems, Inc acts as a Transfer Agent for their mutual fund clients by processing the Purchase, Redemption, Exchange, and Dividend of Share Trade Information received from its retail and institutional shareholders. Currently, DST controls the money movement between the Transfer Agency Bank and the Custody Bank for the funds invested and provides reports to the Portfolio Manager and fund accountant of the Fund Company, the next day. The above SDCM Phase I Project defines the Current TA 2000 System enhancements necessary for the comprehensive support of clients with same-day processing needs. It provides real-time data, critical for same-day processing support, to the appropriate end users. It also eliminates many of the repetitive manual tasks prevalent in the current same-day processing environment. Moreover this project satisfies the Mutual fund industry participants who require real-time access to shareholder trading totals throughout the day and the ability to perform fund-level reporting and custody money movements on a same-day basis.
Role: Involved in preparation of the project Plan, statement of work and detail specifications. He coordinated with DST as well as the Offshore (India) Team on Coding and Unit testing around 75 Programs. Same Day Cash Management System (SDCM) Phase II - Wire Purchase Proofing &
Portfolio Managers Enhanced Views
CLIENT: DST Systems Inc., Kansas City, MO.
Wire Purchase Proofing - The Wire Purchase Proofing project will provide the ability to reconcile wires received to wire purchases within the same-day cash management system. The wire proofing process will support the process to obtain a file from the funds bank accounts and systematically compares the wires to the transactions processed which avoids the labor intensive process of manually matching wire notification to a report of purchases processed followed by most fund groups currently. Systematic Matching will occur periodically throughout the day as wires are received with the Manual Matching occurring at any point during the day.
Portfolio Managers Enhanced Views - The large-dollar Threshold Enhancements will support the daily posting of funds that the Portfolio Managers need to do in order to track the shareholder activity of the fund. The Portfolio buys and sells Enhancement will allow the traders to better track their security positions and ultimately the funds cash availability.
Role - Systems Analysis, Preparation of Program Logic, Development and Unit Testing for 32 Programs, Coordinated with DST on Coding and Unit Testing of all the Programs.

Asynchronous Transaction Processing - Asynchronous Transaction Processing was suggested as the solution for moving the nightly batch processing into online mode. After data is entered in the online mode, a transaction is initiated immediately in the asynchronous mode so that it starts processing for that transaction whatever was being processed nightly in the batch mode. The Asynchronous mode ensures that the user terminal is not blocked when the processing is going on and he is free to enter the next online transaction. In effect it simulates a kind of batch processing under CICS. Two out of the twelve functions recognized as eligible for Asynchronous Transaction Processing were taken in the pilot project. The purpose of the pilot project was to establish the framework necessary to easily implement the remaining functions as Asynchronous Transactions.
Role - Systems Analysis, Preparation of Specifications, Development and Unit Testing for 12 Programs, Coordinated with the Onsite Team on Specifications, Coding and Unit Testing of all the Programs.
