Welcome! |
Welcome to the Grand Isle Heritage Zoo located in Grand Island, Nebraska. We are open during the Summer season from 8:00AM-5:00PM seven days a week.
Located on seven acres of land within lovely Stolley Park, our small zoo is home to approximately 140 animals representing approximately 75 species from throughout the world! We currently house a variety of animals such as Wolves, foxes, emu, cassowary as well as several species of native and exotic birds and reptiles. In addition, we have five species of Primates and five species of Felines.
The Heritage Zoo's mission statement is to provide educational opportunities for all ages with an emphasis on conservation. Many of our native birds were rescued from death by the Raptor Rehab program in Lincoln, Nebraska and were unable to return to their natural habitat. Several species residing at the Heritage Zoo are listed as threatened or endangered.
