Midland, a small port town in Ontario on the southeastern shores of Georgian Bay, is a popular summer resort that is only some 90 miles north of Toronto. It is also the western terminus of the 240-mile Trent-Severn Waterway which is used by pleasure craft to transit directly from Lake Ontario to Lake Huron. The Penetanguishene/Midland area has become a yachting gateway to the myriads of Georgian Bay islands.
