UNDER PREPARATION
Lake Huron, some 200 miles long and second largest of the Great Lakes, lies between Michigan on the west and Ontario on the east. Most of the water area, including all of Georgian Bay, is in Canada.
Lake Huron and Lake Michigan are connected by the Straits of Mackinac (mack'-i-naw) and can be considered a single body of water, a "Lake Huronmichi", as the water levels are identical and other hydrographic characteristics are similar. If this were the case, then this continuous body of water would be larger than Lake Superior and could be considered the largest freshwater lake in the world.
