The GSF Mission:
This informational page seeks to provide information for those wishing to become converts to the Jewish faith, teaching them in the ways of Torah and allowing them to make informed decisions.

Many times, the family of the convert or "ger" do not know how to adjust to the ger's chosen lifestyle...the misunderstandings common in these situations lead to a severing of familial relationships.

The Jewish families who become related to a convert thru marriage, often become uncomfortable if the ger or giores becomes more religious or zealous in practice than they are, and this can cause tremendous friction.

We at the GSF care about the unique postion and problems that face each potential ger or giores and wish to provide understanding and support.

We recommend that anyone wishing to convert should contact any one of the Rabbinical contacts listed on this page for further information. Even if the reader does not live in any of the areas listed, we still recommend that they consult with one of the Rabbonim listed here. One should be aware that conversions in accordance with Jewish law, are not available in every community, and many times the potential convert must move to a vibrant Jewish community in order to undergo conversion.
Contact the GSF to arrange for a Heimishe Shabbos!
The vast majority of the people who contact our organization live outside of the United States. For this reason, the GSF is not operating a gerus support group in the New York area. We have people from Burkina Faso, Curacao, Egypt, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Ivory Coast, Korea, Pakistan, Panama, Spain, Thailand and Trinidad contacting us for information, as they wish to convert al pi halakah!

At this point, we have very few responses from people in the New York area. If we ever have a significant local response, we will make a time for monthly meetings. We invite all potential converts, all significant others and newly converted Jews as well!

The Gerus Support Forum's Info Clearinghouse!
We will direct gerim to qualified Rabbonim nationwide to help answer specific questions in regards to Jewish law and Jewish practice.

Contact Mordechai Housman at www.beingjewish.com to obtain a Jewish reading list or to ask questions concerning Orthodox Jewish life.

Miscellaneous Information:
An excellent shiur that people should attend is the shiurim given by HaRav Mordechai Yonah Aderet, SHLITA on the Parashas HaShavuah at the Sephardic Jewish Congregation, 101-17 67th Drive, Forest Hills, NY 11375 718-544-6932.This shiur is only suitable for those who have some Torah learning "under their belts" so to speak and it is not for beginners!

Every evening at Yeshiva Kesser Torah, there is a shiur in Chumash with Ramban and other Meforshim that is recommended for beginners with some knowledge of Hebrew. The shiur is given by HaRav Elyakim Rosenblatt, SHLITA. Contact Yeshiva Kesser Torah, 72-11 Vleigh Place, Kew Gardens Hills, NY 11367. The shiurim change from time to time, so drop by the yeshiva and ask Rabbi Rosenblatt what is on the agenda.

There is a ongoing action in Antwerp to name a street after the Antwerpener Rov, the holy tzaddik and Gadol HaDor, Moron HaRov Chaim Kreiswirth, zt"l. This is a notable cause and we should do all we can to help in this matter! Go to the following site to find out how to contact the Mayor of Antwerp: www.MoronHoravKreiswirth.org/Kreiswirthstraat.html

If at all possible, please support the holy yeshiva of Rabbi Avrohom Leitner, shlita, Yeshiva Binyan Dovid d'Montevideo. Please send your tax-deductible donations to Yeshiva Binyan Dovid d'Montevideo, 143 Rutledge Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211, ATTN: HaRav Avrohom Leitner. Thank you in advance for your support and pass the word that this yeshiva is a worthy cause!

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of the Holy Tzaddik, the Admor of Biksad, HaRav Nochum Tzvi Fisch, zt"l. We don't have full info regarding the Rebbe's passing, however I will update the site as soon as I find out. When learning Torah, please learn with the Rebbe in mind and ask for the aliyoh of the Rebbe's holy neshomoh. Remember the goodness and kindness of the Biksader Rebbe. Pray for an aliyah for the Rebbe, HaRav Nochum Tzvi ben Chaya Golda, zt"l.
