Welcome to my home away from home, my family and I welcome you :)
A quick little note, I had to do a little rearranging between webpages, all the Counties of Interest information has been moved to the individual state/county pages at http://StatesOfHeritage.homestead.com/index.html my apologies for any delays this may cause you.
On May 21, 2002, our newest family member is due to arrive :) So bear with us, we'll be away from the computers for a little while, but we'll be sure and post the baby's name here ASAP so all our friends and family will know :) We'll also post a picture on http://OurVisualGenealogy.homestead.com/index.html. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE ! :)
I want to announce the birth of our daughter Rebecca Lynn :) She joined our family as planned on Oct. 17, 2000 with healthy lungs going strong before she was even completely here :) Her mother's daughter to be sure ;) She and mama are doing great!
My wonderful husband David and I are working on our family trees in hopes that we can share with others what we have learned. It's our belief that in order to have a complete and rounded future, we must know, accept and pass on what we can about our past.
Some of the information here is proven and documented, some of it is not. All of the families here should be considered as works in progress. There are a lot of people working on these families and some of the outlines are not proven as of yet. This sometimes changes each day, so please check back often. I am a big believer in documentation and will post that documentation here when ever possible, if anyone would ever like anything added, please contact me. My main goal is to help others find information that may help them, but please remember to figure in the human error factor, now and from the past. David and I will never be offended if someone asks for sources and as long as space is available, will we never reject documentation when presented, and welcome any contributations.
We have four teenage children who don't always understand what we see in "old cemeteries" and "smelly, boring courthouses" but they have each inherited a bit of our love for history. One loves reading about WWII and when he graduates next year, plans to join the US Navy, continuing generations of loyal service. Two love building and carpentery and have inherited their maternal grandfathers natural talent for construction and carpentery, one has recently discovered an interest in the civil war, the other is an extremly talented young artist. Our oldest daughter, show's promise of developing an interest in photography.
My husband and I grew up in two different parts of the country, myself in Northern Indiana, with my roots planted deeply in Kentucky, my husband grew up in North East Philadelphia with his roots going back to the Ukrain. So between the two of us we have many challenges in front of us. Both old world and new world experiance will be needed and we both willingly admit to being inexperianced.
It's been a slow and not always steady task of the heart, but I've finally gotten some family outlines and transcribed documents uploaded. I've done my best to make them as accurate as possible, but there are sure to be errors, misspellings and mistakes. In some cases there may also be conflicting information available. I've done my best to list the most current and correct information available at this time, however if you see anything that you know is incorrect, PLEASE email me and I will do my best to fix the mistakes.
I will at times be slow at fixing errors, and won't be able to upload as often as I like, in addition to a full time family, David and I both work full time jobs, so at times we get behind.
I want to thank everyone who has helped us with these families and sent information. I could never put all the names here, there are just so many. In our opinion there is no way one person can take "credit" for genealogy, it takes hundreds of people to make it over generations of time and hundreds of people to compile it over generations of time. Past and present, we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
In the future you will see our many family Genealogies along with some original pictures, artwork and creative inspirations. I also plan to have, in my opinion, some of the best if not most useful links that I have run across in my travels. Some will be Genealogy references some will not. Our family has a wide variety of interests and I plan to eventually include most if not all of them.
But I must warn you, please be patient, I don't always move as fast as others would like me too :).
Last but not least, have a wonderful day!
