Pittsburgh Fleamarket...WILDWOOD!!

Last summer we had the pleasure of taking a great vacation to the Wildwood Peddlers Fair Fleamarket. The place is located in Gibsonia, Pa., just North of Pittsburgh. Not only is is a fantastic fleamarket, but it is an old mine & ski resort! The buildings are reminders of it's past. It's also pretty neat, in that it is almost 3 tiered, in the way it is set-up. As you come into it, you can follow the main road down into the pit, where the buildings are, or head out towards a big flat are, where vendors are also located. Just bring your good walking shoes.

You can see the old ski chair lifts hanging from the ceiling.

Look closely at this building.

Now look closely at the small building up on the hill to the right.

Now, if you look at the old mine picture, you can see the buildings!!

This is my attempt at a panoramic view. This is what you see after you have come down the hill. The buildings in the previous pictures are all off to the right!

This view is from on top of the hill. You can see just as many vendors up here as down below!

These 2 pics are from inside just one building! It's really hard to describe. Oh, the floors are all dirt too!

I love it! A stuffed Bobcat, sitting on a classic old basket!

The red tin car is a fantastic old "Fire Chief" car!

The vendor also had lots of other cars!

This beautiful cedar chest was like brand new...including it's original stickers & advertising for display!!

Maybe it's a bit modern, but as a Hollywood collectible, this Candyman reflective mirrror was really cool!

Do you collect Mercury Dimes...how about gold ones, that happen to be custom made, with a 3 foot diameter? The first vendor to greet us on the way in, was making these!

This older RedWing crock was priced down to $110.00.

The moccasins & pouch were real. They looked old too!

These 2 different Lionel train lights were dead mint. They had the orginal boxes, directions, everything!!

An old time shuffle style bowling game. It was beautiful!!

Wildwood indeed was & is a great place. People were friendly, prices were great, & objects of interest were everywhere!! We plan on going back this year. If you're interested, all the contact info is below.
