Fisher-Price Toy Town Museum

The Town Town Museum is located in East Aurora, NY. The town is small, quaint, & a great place to visit! It is located South East of Buffalo, NY.

The entrance to the museum. It's on the second floor.

These 2 gentlemen formed a company that provided lots of jobs, in many communities for many years, & more importantly, made millions of children happy with Fisher-Price products!!

These are original designer templates of actual FP toys!

This FP Castle is the rare 1974 version!

The Big Performing Circus has always been a great item for collectors. It is extremely hard to get a set complete. This example was the only complete set that I have ever seen! If you love or collect FP's, this Museum will leave you breathless!!

I had never seen this early edition plane. All wood, with beautiful graphics, it made for a great toy!

The "Woodsy Cart" is another very rare item to find in the condition!

Another fantastic Circus toy that is incredible.

Overflow work on the "Pop-up Kritter" line of toys was farmed out to local families on a piece work basis. Assembled in homes around the area of the factory, this "cottage-industry" enabled Fisher-Price to keep up with the growing demand for the popular toy.

The 4 previous pictures had some great examples of 1960's FP toys. Any childhood memories coming back??

An extremely rare prototype with the final product. It was great to see both displayed!

During World War 2, Fisher-Price went from toys to producing crates, that would be packed with Red Cross medical supplies! There were other comapnies in the area that also did this, as well as across the country. Everyone did their part towards the war effort, even toy companies!!

These are the posters that are produced every year at the annual ToyFest. These posters have started to become quite collectible & valuable to collectors!

As you first enter the museum, you are greeted by these 2 toy fire trucks. They were early classic examples of quality toys. I believe that these were made by Hubley Toy Co.

When you finish with the museum, there is the FP Factory store too! Because Fisher-Price is part of Mattel, you can purchase tons of great toys!!

As breifly mentioned before, FP has a celebration every August called, Toyfest!! The whole town opens it's doors! There are parades, contests, tours, etc! The town even paints their Fire Hydrants to look like Little People!!

At the ToyFest celebration, Fisher-Price always creates & sells a special limited edition toy, for just that year's festival! This picture shows some of the previous festival toys. These toys, like the posters have become extremely collectible, & valuable!!

.........................................................................................

The folowing toys are examples of some other makers toys for kids!

This is a great example of some very early "steam" toys! The picture in the middle shows the actual steam generator. This was an actual scaled-down version of a real steam generator! The 2 toys on the left & right of the generator would operate, & have an actual cutting motion. These toys were great fun, extremely dangerous, & quite fascinating! Ah....the good old days. Examples of these toys were highlighted on the PBS series, Antiques Roadshow, this past season.

These may look like FP's but they aren't! They are an earlier toy that helped create Little People!

These dolls were created becauseof the Dionne Quintuplets sensation!

Ramp Walkers! Tilt a board or book & down they went!

1960's GI Joes!

A lot of early Erector sets!!

A beautiful refinished Carousel horse!

A lot of great Pez candy dispensers!!
