WOW!

This is great!! You made it thru page 1. Now is when the good stuff starts to happen!!

On this page, I will show pics from various fleamarkets; Antique shows from the area; great buys, sales & finds!! We will try to keep the pictures fresh, updating monthly. This will give you (the guest) a great view & insight into the fleamarkets of Western New York. Good reason to visit regularly...huh?? Okay, hold on tight...here we go!!

Springville

The fleamarket in Springville, NY takes place every Wednesday. They run from about early May to late October. In the summer, they are packed!! Most vendors pull in around 4:30 A.M.! If you're a vendor & you don't get there by 6:00 A.M., then forget it! Most people that come to buy, have to walk about 2 miles to get in by 8:30A.M.!! Usually by 10:00, there are an easy 5 to 10,000 people!! They have an all day auction, livestock auction, farmers market, & the fleamarket. Most Wednesdays, Wendy & I are set-up...weather permitting. The farmer's market has incredible prices! For $15.00 bucks you can get (on the average):3 heads of lettuce; 2 (full) bunches of asparagus; 6 cucumbers; 5 tomatoes;10lb. bag of potatoes; 5lb. block of cheese; small crate of strawberries;3 huge onions!! I've seen vendors set-up that were from Ohio, Pa., Fla., MD.,Canada,West Va.! Personally, we live for Springville. We have found some of the most incredible deals in that place!!

Lots of folks for the auction!

2003

A great day with lots of sun, folks, vendors, & stuff!

This wooden boat was great & priced to move!

This chair had a fantastic country look. It had wear patterns on it that showed age & use. The metal basket to the right is an old chicken egg basket.

The same vendor had these great deck chairs. These types of chairs were also on ships. What was great is that she had a foot stool that could be unfolded & secured to the chair.

The drums looked to be from the 60's, but may have been more modern.

The vendor had 2 lights. They looked to be early driveway lights that resembled old street lights.

A child's record player made to look like a juke box!

Not only were the brass fixtures nice, but being a corner sink made it a little rare.

I discovered a great little Antique/Gift shop leaving town. It just happens to be in the old Springville train station! It's actually a great gift shop, called the Springville Depot. They also have a trolley car in the back that serves coffee(The Streetcar Named Dessert), & a train that serves ice cream(The Concord Country Caboose). They are located on 227 West Main St.(716-592-7777). They are good friends. Please stop by & say hello.

Avon, N.Y. Fleamarket!!

Well, I finally got our chance to go to the Avon, NY fleamarket this past Sunday. It was lot of fun. We had not been there for over 3 years! I saw a lot of old friends, had a rush of memories come back to us, etc. The fleamarket is really a nice set-up. I'm pretty sure that the vendor spots are still $20 for the day. Their food building is new & very clean (with some great smelling food cooking), plus the bathroom facilities are top-notch! The fleamarket also doubles as a drive-in! I believe that there are 2 screens, & if memory serves me well, vendors can set-up on Saturday nights, watch the movies, & problably sell. I plan on going back this weekend for more goodies, & will double check. We had heard that business was booming there, & it was! It was jam packed with vendors & customers. I got some great Hot Wheel deals, & saw a lot of items. I only got a couple of pics of decent items, but do plan to get more! Well, enjoy the pics, & email if you need info.

This vendor was selling fruit & especially bananas. We remembered him instantly. He's famous for his yell of announcing his wares..."Bonanas, Bonanas, Bonanas!!". If you've ever been there, you know who I'm talking about!! LOL (Laugh out Loud)!!

As previously stated it was a good crowd. This picture came out looking funny. The lady to the right looks like she has a big yellow ribbon attatched to her butt?!

Avon 2003

Well, we've had a few chances this year to both visit & sell at Avon! It has been great to see old friends. Avon is very nice with the trees. It's easy to find shade. It can get a little swampy depending on how much rain has fallen that week.

A nice set of chairs that needed a new home & a

Balloon tires on a bike. That means old!

This really old butter churn was missing a few parts but it still looked cool!

The vendor had old store stock from a drug store. He had the items displayed nicely too!

This very big glass(about 15" tall) was Italian made glass called Murano Glass.

Personally, I love postcards. This was an excellent example of a postcard called a "Hold to Light"! Basically, you hold it towards a light source, & the card illuminates with beauty! Sometimes these cards will hide things that show up when held to light(thus the name). This card was about from the 1920's. It was still in it's original wax paper envelope. I had never seen one this pristine. The vendor was asking $75. Yep, for a postcard! Amazingly, as a collector of postcards, it was worth every penny! If I could have, I would have bought it that day!

A nice piece of pottery. I couldn't tell a maker, but nice.

The same vendor had what I suspect was Shawnee Pottery. There was no mark, but Shawnee can be found that way.

A reconditioned gas pump. It was nice!

We had a guy buy from us. I couldn't help but notice his arm. He collects Captain Crunch...Can you tell? He had all the characters from the cereal on his arm....even Quisp!!

This Tippee Toes doll was beautiful & in it's original box. The doll would actually ride the bike! There is another version of this doll that makes it sit at a school desk & write.

This cute little tin wheel barrel was quite unique!
