BARB:(LIGHT)
ORIGIN:
Coastal areas of North Africa, which include morrocco and parts of Algeria and Libya. It can also be found as far south in the african continent as Nigeria and Cameroon.
CHARACTERISTICS:
The barb horse is not beautiful, but is one of the toughest and most enduring breeds in the world. The head is usually straight, and the neck arched. The withers are often prominent. The quarters usually slope from the croup to a low set tail. The hind legs are sometimes cow-hocked, but this does not effect the horse's movement or performance. The feet tend to be narrow and boxy, but they are hard and sound, like most desert breeds.
The shoulders are flat and upright, the legs slender, hard and dry. The chest is narrow, causing the frontlegs to sometimes be rather close together.
SPORT:
Endurance, pack horse, usually not seen outside of it's native land.
HEIGHT:
14.2-15.3 HH
COLOR:
All different shades of grey, rarely others.

May have it's origin in the Avelignese breding areas in Venetia and in the mountanious regian of Tuscany to the south.

The quarters are muscled, round and heavy, and the tail is well set. The hocks are clean, the legs short and thick. The withers are well defined, but the shoulders tend to be short and vertical, bad according to riding standards.

BASHKIR CURLY
ORIGIN:
Bashkiria in the southern foothills of the Ural mountains.
CHARACTERISTICS:
The head, which was once quite large, and the short, fleshy neck have bee refined in recent years. Now, the head has a straight, neat profile with nicely set ears, and the neck is in proportion to the rest of the body. The mane and tail are extremely thick, and, hence the name, curly, due to the harshly cold conditions they originated in. However the breed tends to shed out the coat in the summer comeletely, and the coat range from wavy to complete dreadlocks. The withers are low and flat, and inclined to upright. The shoulders are usually slightly straight. These horses are often slightly cow hocked. The body is wide, the barrel deep. The legs are short and square, and the hooves aren't bad at all.
SPORT:
Good for western, rarely seen outside of home country;an unusual breed.
HEIGHT:
The original Bashkir Curlys were short and stout, but the modern breeds have infused the blood of other horses, most popular the Missouri Foxtrotters. This is due to Curlies near extinction 20 years ago. Therefore they range in size.
COLOR:
Lots of colors, roan and pinto rarely seen. Hooves are usually all black, many times even on white legs. With only 2400 registered curlies in the US, they are prized.

BRETON:(HEAVY)

This horse is amazingly THICK! The head is usually really wide and long, and extroardinarily large. The neck is ENORMOUSLY thick and short. The back compact, barrel broad and girth very deep. The quarters are rounded and larged, and the tail is traditionally docked to prevent the reins from getting tangled in a long tail. The legs are VERY short, very thick and amazingly strong. The hooves aren't large or too small, and the thick but not heavy feathering always has a tendancy to be wavy and/or curly.
SPORT:
French artilary horse-pulls carriages and carts and is a very nice trotting breed.

BRUMBY:(LIGHT)
ORIGIN:
The waler, the brumby's ancestors, originated in New South Wales.
CHARACTERISTICS:
The head has sharp, smart features, and is attached to a rather small, not very muscular neck. The wither is high, the body lacks depth. The croup is small and square and the tail is rather scraggly. The legs are slender but quite strong, and the horse is very quick on it's feet. Cow hocks and weak quarters plauge the breed. The hooves slant ridiculously, but are extremely strong and can withstand almost anything. Overall, the brumby is a good, hard working little horse despite it's conformational faults.
SPORT:
Australian's mustangs, to wild to be of any use but of hard labor and slaughter for meat. Pretty unfair life.
HEIGHT:
14-15 HH
COLOR:
Every color imaginable.
