Double S Farm is a 150 acre Equestrian Center located near Harrisburg, PA. We have facilities to board, train, and give riding lessons. Our barn consists of 20 stalls, separate tack area, wash rack, and an office/observation area. We have an outdoor and indoor arena. We also have 75 acres of wooded area for those boarding. Fifty acres is made up of lush pastures.

Barn

Our barn consists of 20 stalls that are 12 X 12. Each has a separate light and light switch as well as a plug for a fan in the summertime. The barn is heated during the winter months. The seperate tack room is large and roomy. There is enough space for each horse to have its own seperate area for tack and grooming equipment. The wash rack is located towards the back of the barn where there are less distractions for the horse getting bathed. This is helpful for the younger more inexperienced horses. It is also equipped with hot and cold water. The office/viewinga area is located facing the indoor arena. There is a large viewing window for the parents to be able to see their childrens lessons or owners to watch their horse being trained.

Arenas

Our indoor and outdoor arena are great. They are both large enough to run a full barrell pattern in. The indoor arena is heated for winter riding. The footing in each is state of the art and adjusted to our specific needs and conditions. A seperate roundpen is used for most of the beginning training of young horses.

Boarding
|
|
The boarding clients have access to our wonderful trails run over 75 acres. All trails are marked with white flags so no one gets lost. All boarding horses also have access to our lush 50 acres of pasture. Each pasture is 10 acres in size and will be rotated to give each pasture adequate rest and growing time in order to keep them with plenty of grass for the horses to eat. We offer several packages for the boarders to choose from. They vary in price and services. For more information on these packages please contact us. |

Training

Our training program is geared towards breaking young horses and starting of potential barrell racers. Each horse is an individual and may need more time or less time in training. It is the job of our experience staff to determine the training schedule for each horse that comes into our program. The staff will consult with the owner after an evaluation is done to determine the length the horse needs to stay and the intensity of the training it will recieve. |
