3 Count
When Evan Karagias first hit the WCW scene in 1998, he was a virtual unknown. With his good looks and wrestling ability, many started to take notice of this up and comer in the WCW rings. A graduate of the Power Plant, it was certain that he had been given top-notch training in WCW's school of hard knocks. In September 1998, Karagias took a hiatus from the ring to pursue one of his other passions... acting.

Evan had done modeling for fashion and fitness magazines in the past, but this time he was up for a stint on the ABC soap "All My Children." Karagias had a short stay as a bartender on the popular soap.

Shannon Moore always wanted to be a pro wrestler. At 13, he ran the camera for an independent organization that his friends had started. Along the way, he jumped in the ring and began learning techniques. Finally realizing his lifelong dream, in April of 1995 Shannon made his pro debut. Moore has held many regional championships and has perfected the high-flying style that you see in WCW rings. It was on the independent scene where Shannon met Shane Helms.

Shane Helms started his wrestling career in the early 1990s, racking up several regional titles along his journey. Helms, who is trained in six different styles of wrestling, met Shannon Moore and together formed an impressive team that tore up the regional wrestling scene. It wasn't long before the duo bonded with Evan Karagias, lighting the initial spark that would become 3 Count.

In April 1999, Evan re-emerged on the scene in WCW, once again turning heads of the ladies and the WCW higher ups. One particular head that was turned was that of Madusa, who took a liking to the youngster. The two soon had a whirling affair, with Karagias willing to do anything to please his lady. When she asked him for a shot at his newly won WCW Cruiserweight Title, he graciously accepted. On December 19, 1999, at Starrcade, Karagias lost the title to Madusa. It was at this time that Evan realized that he was being played for a fool.

Four days later on WCW Thunder, Evan, along with Shane and Shannon, officially debuted 3 Count in WCW. Lip-synching to a pre-recorded video; the three were taken anything but seriously. Although they continue to grate on the nerves of nearly everyone with their dancing and singing, there is one thing no one can deny: in the squared circle, Evan Karagias, Shane Helms and Shannon Moore are the stars in WCW's future.

Bam Bam Bigelow
Known as the Beast from the East, Bam Bam in a graduate from Larry Sharpe's Monster Factory in New Jersey. Having traveled the world, Bigelow has left a trail of victims and has chalked up an impressive record along the way. He has held major championships around the world and is respected as one of the best everywhere he wrestles.

Upon entering WCW in his most recent stint, Bigelow openly challenged the man who everyone else feared, Bill Goldberg. The challenge was met, and Bam Bam gave the former Atlanta Falcon a run for his money.

When one steps into the squared circle with Bam Bam, his intimidating features give him the advantage from the get go. While agile for his size, his massive frame and tattooed cranium makes him feared throughout the wrestling world.

In 1999, he formed The Triad, a group of Jersey boys, along with DDP and Kanyon. After taking a brief hiatus, Kanyon returned, and their relationship went sour.

In the new Millennium, Bigelow has chosen to walk a familiar path in his career ... hardcore. Capturing the Hardcore Title in February, he is on a non-stop mission to destroy anyone who gets in his way.

Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner
Big Poppa Pump arms are larger than the state of Delaware. OK, that's an exaggeration. But Rhode Island certainly.

As a Michigan Wolverine, Scott Steiner along with brother Rick won NCAA wrestling accolades while earning a degree in education. Scott was a two-time All-American honoree. Big Ten collegiate experience ignited the duo's early pro wrestling success. As the Steiner Brothers, the pair sharpened their skills against the very best tag teams in the U.S. and Japan.

Scott however decided he wanted no part of the family affair. He deserted his brother and the WCW for a spot in Hogan's nWo and, along with accomplice Buff Bagwell, wreaked havoc on his opponents. That relationship deteriorated, however, leading to a reunion with his brother.

Gifted with an eye-popping, Herculean physique, Scott is always just a belly-to-belly suplex away from victory. When he's not bagging his opponents, Scott spends his time working out, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and fishing.

Billy Kidman
Billy Kidman seems to have it all. Popularity with the fans. Charming good looks. A dazzling style of aerial expertise and mat mastery. Oh yeah, he's got Torrie Wilson on his arm too!

When the Pennsylvania native entered the sport in 1994, he had star written all over him. Soon he would join Raven's Flock and take to a new hobby ... itching. Choosing a path of his own, Kidman left the Flock, put on some clean clothes, and the ladies began to swoon everywhere he went.

Although a handsome young man, Billy is not all fluff in the ring. A former Tag Team and Cruiserweight Champion, he has beaten many top stars along the way. One of the few in the sport who can perform the Shooting Star Press, his kamikaze flip from the turnbuckle puts him at risk every time he performs it.

In late 1999, the gorgeous Torrie Wilson started escorting Billy to the ring. This bombshell in Billy's corner only makes him strive harder to achieve his goals. Billy Kidman is a true star in the making and with Torrie by his side, the sky is the limit for this dynamic duo.

Booker
A man without a name ... almost. Booker has been known in WCW rings for years as Booker T, not only one half of the legendary Harlem Heat tag team, but an accomplished singles wrestler as well. He has appeared in TV commercials and a Comedy Central special, and always dresses for success. But the world as he knew it changed in January 2000.

When Booker started having trouble with the creative team and their henchmen, he looked outside the Harlem Heat fold for help. Booker's brother, Stevie Ray took exception, and brought an old ally from the streets to WCW to "remind" Booker of his roots. Ray told his brother that he was out of HH, and that he was replaced with Big T.

Soon, the New Harlem Heat acquired the services of WCW legal council for hire, J Biggs, to bring a suit against Booker for the rights to the name and likeness of Harlem Heat. They even went so far as to take the "T" from his name, leaving him simply as Booker.

The 10-time tag team champion and 7-time TV champion has been around for a long time and, no matter what the name, will remain one of the most respected wrestlers gracing WCW rings.

Bret Hart
Bret "Hitman" Hart is unquestionably the most famous Canuck in professional athletics. His technical expertise combined with the ability to brawl has made him an indomitable force, hitting the USA like a snowstorm blowing in from the North.

Wrestling is in his blood. Bret, a native of Calgary, was raised among Canada's finest grapplers. Bret's father Stu ran "The Dungeon" training center in the basement of the Hart family home and has produced such wrestling superstars as Roddy Piper, Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho. Under the tutelage of his father, Bret mastered the fundamentals at an early age. Throughout the years, the "Hitman" has perfected his every move, making him a lethal force when he hits the mat.

Bret began his amateur wrestling career in high school. Although highly successful, he did not immediately pursue wrestling as a profession. It was not until he had given up the mat for college that his true passion for the sport ignited.

Throughout his years as a professional, Bret has held the World Heavyweight Title seven times, plus enjoyed much success in tag-team competition. When he's not on the road, Bret spends time in his homeland, where he occasionally writes a column for the Calgary Sun.

Buff Bagwell
He's Buff and he's the stuff. The face, the body, the ability...Bagwell has it all. The combination makes Buff one of the superstars of pro wrestling.

Formerly Scott Steiner's tag team partner in the nWo, Bagwell has emerged from that failed relationship to thrive in the singles division. Buff's popularity isn't hard to understand. Women love him and men want to be like him.

Buff's stuff starts with ability. He combines a unique blend of power and quickness to subdue his foes. He was WCW Rookie of the Year and won three WCW World Tag Team Titles with three different partners. Buff made a statement for the young guns of WCW by pinning 14-time World Champion Ric Flair on a 1999 Nitro. Besides belts, Buff also has the respect of both the fans and opponents. In 1998, Buff severely injured his spinal chord and neck in front of a national television audience of millions. At the time, fans and WCW could only hope that he would walk again. Not only did Buff meet that challenge, but he also returned to the squared-circle better than ever.

Buff brings more to the table than just his in ring ability. He gives the fans what they want to see. They want to see Buff dance. Check. They want to see Buff pose. Check. They want to see Buff do impersonations? Surprisingly, yes. He has brought down the house with his hilarious dead-on imitations of Scott Steiner and The Cat. Bagwell has starred in two movies, The Day Of The Warrior and Return to Savage Beach.

The Cat
Ernest "The Cat" Miller is considered a lethal weapon by his opponents... in more ways than one.

There's no discounting Miller's deadly skills as a martial artist. In the past 23 years, he has rigorously studied multiple disciplines and forms, borrowing different throws, punches and kicks from each and developing his own unique style. From 1996-98, he won the Atomix Open Karate Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia – a contest that draws some of the toughest men in the world.

But, many would argue that The Cat's most lethal assets would be his trash-talking, challenge-making, narcissism-spouting mouth – and unquenchable ego. The Cat has not only blossomed as a wrestler, he's made a habit of reminding fans of his success on a regular basis. Stepping out in red dancing shoes, he's pro-wrestling's answer to Mohammed Ali and insult-comedian Don Rickles.

The result of Cat's primping and bragging: Huge victories and feuds with top-level superstars. Things are only looking to improve for this karate superstar.

If you don't believe us, just ask him.

Crowbar
There is crazy. There is demented. And then there is Crowbar. This off the wall character first appeared on WCW television Christmas week, meeting up with the equally disturbed David Flair and Daffney Unger. It was at a gas station that the three came together with a plan to wreak as much havoc on WCW as possible. But Crowbar has a wrestling past stretching back seven years before he debuted as the psychotic one.

He trained to become a wrestler at the Iron Mike Sharpe School of Pro Wrestling, learning the basics before making his debut in a battle royal in 1992. From there, he concentrated on perfecting some of the high-risk maneuvers, turning to the master of the "No Laughing Matter" moonsault, Hugh Morris. Crowbar worked around the Northeast independent circuit, wearing many regional titles along the way, as well as short stints in two national organizations. In 1999, Crowbar made his way to WCW, honing his skills at the Power Plant, before hooking up with David and Daffney.

Curt Hennig
Cunning, confident, cut-throat -- that's Curt Hennig, one of the greatest wrestling talents ever to hail from the pro wrestling mecca of Minnesota.

Pro wrestling flows thick in Curt Hennig's veins, compliments of a pro wrestling father, Larry "The Ax." But it took a grueling stint at Verne Gagne Wrestling Camp to seal his future vocation. This eye-opening experience motivated him to spurn collegiate offers in football, baseball and wrestling after a stellar prep career.

Earning several world heavyweight and tag team titles, Hennig is a no-nonsense competitor that gets the job done. Inducted into Cauliflower Alley, which honors wrestling's greats, Hennig and "The Ax" are the only father-son tandem to be honored.

In 1999, Hennig formed the West Texas Rednecks, along with The Windham brothers and the late Bobby Duncum, Jr. The group was a favorite to fans around the world as they performed their smash hit, "I Hate Rap."

After a brief hiatus, Hennig has returned to WCW rings, standing beside the likes of Buff Bagwell, and even the one and only, Hulk Hogan to fight against the nWo and Team package.

David Flair
It's hard to imagine being The Nature Boy's oldest son.

Not only is Ric Flair the greatest champion in the history of the sport, he's earned a backstage reputation as being the most flamboyant and dynamic personality to ever close a club, ride in a limousine or wreck a hotel room. How could any youngster try to live up to such a legend without going crazy?

Considering David Flair's current disposition -- and partialness to tire irons -- lunacy might be the only solution.

When David started with WCW, he was just a wide-eyed 19-year-old, hoping to help his father win control of the company. The Flairs succeeded, only to have David fall prey to the glitzy allure of Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash and Torrie Wilson. Signs of David's mental decline were apparent, but ignored by both the nWo and a power-hungry Nature Boy. When David and Ric finally made amends, the boy was literally given the U.S. Belt and -- despite having no proper training -- was expected to defend the belt on a weekly basis. With the help of Ric, Arn Anderson, Asya and referee Charles Robinson, David defeated some of the best wrestlers in the company -- but the pressure of success and the disrespect of his coworkers only aggravated young Flair's fragile mental condition.

David finally became unhinged after watching his father receive a near-fatal beating at the hands of Diamond Dallas Page. The boy snapped like a snow pea, started carrying a tire iron and seemed impervious to pain. After decimating DDP, he stalked Kimberly, scaring her with his every step.

In late 1999, Flair met the "girl of his dreams," Daffney Unger, who had sent a video in for the Nitro party contest. They were inseparable when they met Crowbar, a gas station attendant who was equally disturbed. Their reign of madness landed them with the WCW Tag Team Titles for a brief time in 2000.

Now, Flair, along with Crowbar and Daffney, fight against a different force within WCW ... the monster known as The Wall. Week after week, as the former bodyguard punishes them, slamming them through numerous tables, Flair and Crowbar emerge, looking for revenge, as they seem to thrive on the pain that is inflicted upon them.

Diamond Dallas Page
Feel the Bang! This people's champion has enjoyed an incredible ride to wrestling stardom. He has tag-teamed with Karl Malone and Jay Leno, won two WCW World Heavyweight Championships and even married Kimberly, the head Nitro Girl!

Against all odds, Diamond Dallas Page (DDP) parlayed his charisma as a Florida nightclub owner to become a color commentator in the Minnesota-based AWA federation. Page continued his career in reverse going from manager to wrestler to champion. This Jersey Shore native is an anomaly of success spawned from a Trojan work ethic, encyclopedic wrestling knowledge and unshakable confidence. Never tell DDP he can't do it; he has already silenced his critics.

Page paved the way to glory with his patented Diamond-Cutter, one of the most devastating moves in the sport. Drawing motivation from Muhammad Ali and Satchel Page inspired DDP to impressive championships in every WCW heavyweight category.

DDP and his wife Kimberly are very active in Page's own charity, Bang It Out For Books, which helps to fight illiteracy and promote the benefits of reading. DDP, who overcame dyslexia to conquer his fear of reading as a child, has partnered with Scholastic to match donations to local schools for educational materials. Page just finished his autobiography, "Positively Page," and maintains his own internet fan club, "The Union of Diamond Cutters" at www.ddpbang.com. DDP has appeared on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee," "Later" and "Late Show with Craig Kilborn." He played a featured role in the TBS Superstation movie First Daughter, which drew basic cable's largest movie audience of all time.

Keep your eye on this explosive career. There is much more to come for Diamond Dallas Page. Feel the Bang!

Dustin Rhodes
Dustin has been in the wrestling business all of his life. His father, the legendary "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, was a top star in the business throughout the seventies and eighties. Along the way, Dustin watched his dad fight battles night after night, all the while growing the urge to one day step between the ropes himself.

In 1988, Dustin got his opportunity, wrestling on the Florida wrestling circuit. Traveling around the country, he gathered up the experience that would one day make him a star in professional wrestling. Making his way to WCW, Rhodes held the World Tag Team Titles on two different occasions, with Ricky Steamboat and Barry Windham as his partners. He has also captured the coveted United States Title twice in his career. In the mid nineties, Dustin wrestled in the another promotion as under different names and ever wilder gimmicks. Although a controversial character, it wasn't what Dustin truly wanted to do.

In 1999, Rhodes returned to WCW, turning down another wild character that the head writers had come up with for him. He proclaimed he would be himself and only himself.

2000 is the year for Rhodes to show us what he's got. And we don't mean strategic use of a trenchcoat.

Goldberg
Goldberg! Goldberg! Goldberg! Legions of believers echo the war chant summoning pro wrestling's greatest gladiator. Owner of wrestling's longest winning streak, 170-0, he has captured wrestling and movie stardom. The big question is – Who's Next?

Obake, Japanese for "spirit of the monster" is Goldberg incarnate. Disposing of opponents with viper-like swiftness, he strikes with awesome devastation utilizing the "spear and the jackhammer." Sporting a closely cropped scalp, trade-mark tattoo and psyched-up entrance, this muscle mass of intensity has exploded on WCW with incredible force sending shock waves of acclaim around the world.

Before his wrestling success, Goldberg's relentless, attacking style attracted two-time All-SEC honors at nose guard for the University of Georgia Bulldogs and pro football stints with the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams.

As a long time Oakland Raiders fan who idolized the late, crazed John Mutuszak, Goldberg enjoys "living on the edge." He grew up flying gliders and acrobatic planes with his two brothers in Tulsa. Even though he is the son of a doctor and a concert violinist, he spends most of his time supplying patients rather than being one. Goldberg champions the cause for animals as spokesman for the Humane Society of the United States. He has twice spoken to Congress on Capitol Hill concerning animal-fighting laws.
