Here I will tell you all about Chikorita!Or rather, all I know about her.
GAME BOY
Chikorita was first created for the sequel to Pokémon Red and Blue, Pokémon Gold and Silver.She is the grass starter Pokémon in both games.The games were released November 21, 1999 in Japan and are to be released October 16, 2000 in the U.S. and sometime in January of 2001 in the U.K.
Chikorita was also pictured on the corner of a special edition Game Boy Color game unit along with the other two Gold and Silver starting Pokémon.This is currently only in Japan but will proabably come to the U.S. along with the Gold and Silver games.
THE TRADING CARD GAME
Chikorita is also featured in the newest edition to the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon Neo cards, which were realeased in Japan on February 4, 2000 and are to be released sometime in January 2001 in the U.S.The release date for the U.K. is not yet confirmed.
THE ANIME
Chikorita has been on the Anime show for quite a while now in Japan.I'm not sure when the Gold and Silver episodes started in Japan but Chikorita has been featured in several episodes.One is Rookie's Chikorita, another is Stubborn Chikorita and the last is Chikorita's Jealousy.These are not confirmed English episode names, just translations of the Japanese versions.
Also there was a short mini-movie in Japan that was sold in stores around Christmas time and featured Chikorita.The short was called Pikachu's Winter Holiday and you can buy the Japanese version of this short at Japanime.com.This short has not been released any where besides Japan and I'm not sure if it ever will be.
The third Pokémon movie Emperor Of The Crystal Tower also has Chikorita as Ash's Pokémon like in the show.That means she is prabably in the short Pikachu and Pichu also.
THE COMICS AND MERCHINDISE
I have seen alot of Chikorita merchindise on the web and the pictures I could find I'v posted in my Gallery.I also purchased a Gold and Silver Fan Guide Book somewhere on the web awhile ago and it has a small comic book in the back featuring the new Hero and his Chikorita.I'll try to get a picture up in my gallery of it soon. |
