The True Church of Christ We Catholic Christians believe that our is the TRUE CHURCH of Christ and was FOUNDED BY CHRIST. The Orthdox Church is also a true Church of Christ but it seperated from the Catholic Church which is called the Great Schism. The Orthdox Church did not seperate from the Church not for the same reason as the Protestants did. It seperated from the Church because there are diffrent Churches or rites it the Catholic Church. These rites had diffrent customs and traditions. The head of the Catholic Church is the Bishop of Rome. It was hard for some of the leaders to see the Bishop of Rome as head of the whole Catholic Church. Therefore during the Crusades the Eastern Rites seperated from the Catholic Church which made the the Orthdox Church. But, some people stayed with the Roman Catholic Church which made them Eastern Rite Catholics. There have been movements to reunite these two Churches. Apologetics Why believe anti-Catholics who say bad things about the Catholic Church you know or they know isn't true? Why believe these people who never were even Catholics? Why believe former Catholics who got the wrong message when they were Catholics? Don't believe these people without researhing the right information. These people can be Evangelical Protestants, Mormons, or Gehovah's Witness'. These people will give you the wrong message if your not Catholic. These people will give give you take you away from the Catholic Church if you are Catholic. Our New Pope, Pope Benedict XVI God bless our new Pope! Habemous Papam!
