4.21.2000: "Big Tymer "I got That Work" Delayed Again."
Well the Big Tymers Album "I Got That Work" has been delayed again, and
I'm gettin pretty pissed, It's been pushed back to May 16 Due to the
Stupidity of Uneversal Records. They Won't Let CMR Release Cd's how
they want Because they Already have the Next for Cd's Fineshed and are
ready to be Released. May 16 is also the Release of Brittany Spears 2nd
Album, so Big Tymers May not Debute very high on the Charts, CMB will
be trying to get the Hookup and get "I got That Work" a week or 2 Before it Comes out.
4.13.2000: "Big Tymer New LP."
mtv
Juvenile and the Hot Boys may have some in-house competition on their
hands when "I Got That Work," the new album from Cash Money's Big
Tymers, arrives in stores on April 25.
Big Tymers is a duo that consists of Cash Money Records co-CEO Bryan
"Baby" Williams and the label's in-house beatmaster Mannie Fresh. Don't
expect to hear the same bounce rap style that Juvenile and company have taken to
platinum heights, however -- Big Tymers do what they call "game spittin'," as Mannie
Fresh explained.
"That's just runnin' 'G'," Mannie said. "When you game spit... you're hooked up with this
little chicken and you tryin' to talk her up out her clothes. That's game spittin'."
"If you tryin' to get you a job, and you trying to get in there, and there's a interview, you
gotta game spit. You gotta talk your way into it. You gotta convince 'em to hire you. So
game spittin' is basically just runnin' game to get what you want. It don't necessarily have
to rhyme," Fresh concluded.
Besides the occasional lack of rhyming in the Big Tymers' music, Baby also says that the
songs don't necessarily have to follow any particular subject format.
"Juve and them, basically, they have a format that they go by," Baby explained. "If they
got a [song] title, they run by the title. We just do what we feel, just whatever,
whatever. They can rap. We can't rap."
"The title of the song might be called 'Cars' and we might be talkin' about elephants,"
Mannie Fresh interjected.
The first "game-spittin'" single from "I Got That Work" is a song called "Get Your Roll On,"
and the accompanying video for the track marks Mannie Fresh's directorial debut.
The Big Tymers made their debut in 1997 on B.G.'s regionally-released album, "It's All On U
- Vol. 2" while the duo's first LP, "How You Luv That," arrived in 1998.
The Cash Money Millionaires (including Big Tymers and the Hot Boys) are scheduled to
wrap up their current tour with the Ruff Ryders on April 17 in Phoenix.
4.12.2000: "Cash Money Videos."
The Next CMR Video to be Made is off of Juvenile's "Tha G Code" and it is
called "I got That Fire", I Don't know when it will be done but look for it on
Bet or Maybee Mtv, the next video after that to be released is off of Lil
Wayne's Album "Tha Block is Hot" and its called "Respect Us" I dont know
much on this video either.
4.8.2000: "CMR/RR Tour Dates Canceled."
In the wake of a backstage fracas that sent six victims to the emergency
room, two upcoming dates of the Ruff Ryders/Cash Money tour have been
put on ice.
Interscope Records, which handles Ruff Ryders Records, confirms that
planned shows in Tampa on Thursday night and Miami on Friday night
have been cancelled. Interscope could not offer a reason for the move,
and neither local promoters nor the tour's manager could be reached for comment.
On Monday night, the tour's stop at Boston's FleetCenter was marred by a backstage
incident that saw numerous victims stabbed and one struck by a marble bench. Local
radio stations have speculated that the Boston incident played a part in the move to
cancel the Tampa show.
The backstage drama kept DMX and The LOX from performing in Boston and prompted Ruff
Ryders Entertainment to issue a statement reading, "Our sincerest apologies go out to our
fans, supporters and all of the attendees at the show".
The Ruff Ryders/Cash Money tour still has eight dates remaining on an itinerary that
kicked off in late February. The outing still has dates slated in Charlotte, North Carolina;
Atlanta, Georgia; Little Rock, Arkansas; Seattle, Washington; Sacramento, California;
Irvine, California; and Phoenix, Arizona.

4.6.2000: "Update on CMR/Ruff Ryders Tour."
Boston police are still trying to determine what caused a fight to break
out backstage at the Ruff Ryders/Cash Money show at Boston's
FleetCenter Monday night. Boston police told MTV News a fight broke out
before 10 p.m. in a restricted backstage area where several artists and
VIP guests were milling about. Six victims, whose names have yet to be
released, were taken to New England Medical Center, Massachusetts
General Hospital, and Boston Medical Center. One of the victims was struck by a marble
bench, while five others suffered stab wounds. As of press time on Tuesday, two of the
victims remained in stable condition. Although he did not witness the stabbings, a video
director who was accompanying the tour told the "Boston Globe" that a local group called
Made Men had clashed with one or more of the groups on the outing. Police confirmed to
MTV News that there were two arrests at the venue Monday night. One of those arrests
was directly related to the fight (for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon -- a
marble bench) and one may or may not have been directly tied to the backstage fracas
(possession of marijuana). Fifty unnamed people were detained for questioning following
the incident, which prevented The LOX and headliner DMX from taking the stage at all.
According to an Associated Press report, the 5,000 or so concertgoers at the FleetCenter
were unaware of the backstage melee. The Ruff Ryders/Cash Money stop Tuesday night
in Philadelphia has been postponed, although Ruff Ryders representatives say the rest of
the tour remains on schedule. The next date is slated for April 6 at Tampa's Sundome.
4.5.2000: "CMR on Jenny Jones" Release Date.
Cash Money was on The Jenny Jones show yesterday and CMB Happens
to have the Interview they had incase you missed the show.
BB: What's the story of the Cash Money crew? How did you guys all come
together?
Juvenile: Cash Money was going on a long time before a lot of us got
there. When I came to Cash Money at the end of 1995, they were trying to re-start the
company. They were getting rid of all the artists they had because a lot of them were
into drugs and didn't listen or show up to the studio. So I came in with a better work
ethic than the rest of them. They got me, Turk, BG and Wayne and they told us they
would make us a group and call us the Hot Boys. So we came as solo artists; we never
knew we would all end up in a group! At first, I was like "Man, you sure?!" because I felt I
was good by myself. Once I heard the rest of them, and with all of us being so young, I
was like "Damn! We're a force to be reckoned with." And [producer] Mannie Fresh is so
talented; he makes it easy for us. And it's been history ever since!
BB: Did you expect the response that you've gotten to "Back That Thing Up?"
Juvenile: Yeah, because that was a song that I did for myself. It made me a star in New
Orleans before everybody knew about me. A lot of the older women like to hear that type
of music! So I did it for my family, the women, the fellas in the club, and all that
. I didn't
think it would be around this long! I didn't know it would be like this, but thank the Lord it
is!
BB: What is the best thing and the worst thing about being so hot right now?
Juvenile: The worst thing is you don't get a break! If you're a family person, it's different
for you to be away from home a lot. After a while, you start wanting to be at home. But I
have so much of my family with me that it's like being at home again. So it's cool, but it's
hard to not be at home and be able to do what you want to do all the time
.
BB: How many people travel with you?
Juvenile: Man, it all depends! Right now, we have about 70 people. At one time, we had
about 100 people, but we had to do a little firing because a lot of people didn't know what
their job was. You know, troublemakers. (winks)
BB: Who would be your dream team to work with for your next album?
Juvenile: I have one person I really want to do a song with, and it's because she said
something to me that I respected and that made me feel good. It was Patti Labelle, and
she told me I'm her inspiration right now. It was at the Billboard Awards, and I didn't know
she was a fan of mine until the Billboard Awards. It made me feel really good! Oh man,
Patti was backin' it up
.
BB: How did you feel about being snubbed by the Grammys?
Juvenile: I think my fans were more upset than me! I read in several magazines that my
fans were pissed off. They didn't see how they could skip over me when I had the best
year as far as rap was concerned. I think I'm not commercial enough; I'm not crossover
enough. If I was a little bit more away from the streets, and didn't use any profanity, I
believe I would've won a Grammy. But I'm not that. I'm going to be Juvenile, I'm me!
BB: Why do you go by Juvenile?
Juvenile: All my friends are older than me! They've been calling me that since I was 12
years old. I always wanted to be a big boy and run with them, but I couldn't hang
because they would run me home. After a while, that was all they called me!
BB: What do you look for in a woman?
Juvenile: Me, personally, I like a career woman. She doesn't have to be the prettiest
woman in the world. As long as she has a beautiful personality, I'm cool with it. I don't
pick and choose. I'm not color-struggling or anything! I'm single right now.
BB: How would you describe your style of rap?
Juvenile: I went through my changes because I was stuck on New Orleans and I had to
get out of that because I wasn't listening to any other music! I started listening to East
Coast rap and West Coast rap to open my mind up as to how to cater to a fan in different
areas. My rap style is unorthodox. I'm more slang-y and more street than anything. The
whole thing with me is that I don't like to use correct English. I try to say things the way
I was raised up, and my people can relate to me that way. They can understand what I'm
saying and where I'm coming from.
BB: What music do you listen to?
Juvenile: My favorite artists growing up were Run DMC, LL Cool J, Slick Rick, Doug E.
Fresh. I like Doug E. Fresh a lot and I try to follow him and the way he entertains. I'm a
reggae fan, to be honest with you! I'm a big Steel Pulse fan. I really don't listen to as
much rap as people think I do. But you know, I like Dr. Dre, Eminem. I like everybody. If
you've got a good album, I'll give you credit where credit's due.

3.9.2000: Lil Waynes Girl Problems
Cash Money Millionaire Lil' Wayne is in the hot seat as he is receiving
backlash from females in the hip hop community for his comments in the
March issue of The Source magazine. The uproar stems from his response
to the questions, "What's the first thing you do after performing a show?"
and "What's Lil' Turk doing now?" Wayne's responses were "Fuck a ho,
slang d*ck" and "That's my *igga; he chillin'. Probably f**kin' a ho or
somethin." With the success of the Cash Money and Ruff Ryder tour, the teens must be
getting their fair share of action with groupies. Tha Block Is Hot, Lil' Wayne's debut album
has been certified platinum.

2.23.2000: Cash Money Buys Neighborhood
Cash Money Records CEOs and founders Bryan "Baby" Williams and Ronald
"Sugar Slim" Williams recently decided to purchase the Magnolia Projects
in their hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. With the purchase, they
hope to provide the residents with free housing, allow them a chance to
save money and improve their economic conditions so that they can
eventually move out of the projects. The Magnolia Projects gave birth to
two of the label's stars, Juvenile and Turk. At current status, only half of the units have
been sold to Cash Money due to the city's stalwart. In related hip hop news, fellow New
Orleans' native, Master P, rapper and CEO of No Limit Records, is also in negotiations to
purchase the Calliope Project tenement where he grew up. Master P has a new album
slated for release in March with his brother Silkk The Shocker and Mystikal, collectively
known as the 504 Boyz, while "Baby" and Mannie Fresh will be releasing the new Big
Tymers album.
2.18.2000: Cash Money Hatas
The Hot Boys have been dominating the hip hop charts for the past two
years and apparently some player haters want to put a stop to it. A group
called the Wild Boyz recently released a song titled "Click Click." The Wild
Boyz record is a response to B.G.'s hit "Bling Bling." They warn CMB not to
step foot in New York or "Bling Bling" will become "Click Click." No Limit was
supposed to be releasing a record called "The Wild Boys" that dissed Cash
Money. "Click Click" was released on Go Get Em Records. There is no known relationship
between the two labels. Meanwhile, it's unlikely that the Hot Boyz seem worried or will be
hiding their chains during their four appearances in New York during the Cash Money/Ruff
Ryders Tour.
2.10.2000: Baller Blockin
Update on Cash Money's straight to video Baller Blockin' The plot of this,
promising to be off tha chains movie will be mostly about the lives of the
Hot Boys (Juvenile, BG, Wayne, and Turk). It is a gun-busting story based
on the Hot Boys dueling with crooked cops for control of the streets.
Juvenile will be the lead character, who goes by the name of Tunuk
(Tunuk is Juvenile's real nickname). The movie centers on the harsh lyric
that the Millionaires spit on thier albums. BG's character will revolve around "slangin iron,"
Wayne's character will go by Iceberg Shorty, and Turk and Wayne hang together. The
latest is that the movie will be released around January of next year. We here at Cash
Money Billionaires will keep you up to date on the movie.
