Santo Domingo, located on the southeastern shore of the Dominican Republic, is one of the western hemisphere's oldest cities dating back to the early 16th century. Excellent beaches of Boca Chica, Juan Dolio and La Romana are located east of the city. La Romana, sixty miles east of Santo Domingo, is also the site of Casa de Campo, an elegant resort that is a new cruise port destination.
