Hi, I just want to remind everyone that
it does pay to buy a healthy, happy Chihuahua. When
you do you will have years of happy times together.
When you make a trip out to purchase a Chihuahua
Puppy, take the time to look it over before you make
this purchase. Look for bright eyes and check to see
if this pup is outgoing, wanting to play, checking his
or her surroundings out. A pup with a glossy coat and
has nice straight legs, straight back and stands firm
on it's legs. Check the mouth for it's bite, a scissor bite
is a correct one for this breed of dog. Which just means
that the top teeth close just over the bottom teeth. I find
it very helpful to go to the book store and pick up a book
on the breed I am looking for and I use it for a reference.
Check to see if the puppy is walking correctly, this is a hard
part with a pretty young pup. Just make sure it is not too wobbly
on it's feet. Be sure to check the head on this pup. The hole in
the top of the Chihuahua puppies head can be from the size of
a pea to a quarter in size, and this is still normal. Some do not
have a hole in their head at all. Be more cautious if this hole is
the size of a half dollar. On a six week old puppy, that is quite
large and it can be something to question. If the head just seems
not to go with the body, like it is off balanced due to a oversized head.
Then you may want to pass this one by and make a trip out to see
another ones Chihuahua Pups. The hole in the head is called molera.
If you do happen to buy a pup with a hole in it's head, just be careful
of it the way we all are when in a human infant. Now if you are going
to buy a show quality Chihuahua puppy, well that is much more
different then to purchase one for a pet. You would sure want to
ask alot of questions and go by the standards for this breed of
dog. I will add a link for the standard for show quality Chihuahuas.
I do hope you find my Care Center to be useful in choosing a really
nice healthy puppy, even a pet should meet with your expectation.
Chihuahuas are kind of like people they do come in all different
shapes and sizes. Some have a short nose and some a longer
nose, some have a dome that is referred to as (an apple dome)
some have a flatter dome, not an apple dome. Some are frail
boned and some are thicker boned. This is some of the choices
you will make as to what you want your pup to have for it's great
looks. Please look my site over and let me know how I can help
you in choosing a Chihuahua Puppy. Please sign my Guest Book.
