| Eurynome, the goddess of all things, rose from the chaos ( chaos means "complete disorder"). They say the Eurynome divided the sea from the sky. Her hands turned into a serpent. Euryome than put the serpent coiled around her. Therefore she became pregnant. Next she turn into the great dove and laid an egg. When the egg hatched, it brought all things. Like the stars, the moon, the sun....etc... It also had the fisrt human. Eurynome made Muont Olympus her home. The serpent made Eurynome very angry. He said that he was the author of the univere. She got so mad that banished him for Mount Olympus, and throw him a dark cave, many miles below the earth. Than Euryome made 7 planary power (another word she made 7 gods and goddess) 2 of the gods were Cronus and Rhea ( the parents of Zeus ) This is only one of the stories about the beginning of the world. There are many many more!!!!!!!! |
