Take a WILD guess at who won. *rolleyes* They have a new album coming out called "Chapter 1". They didn't want it to be called "greatest hits". It's an album of their hit songs! This will be out October 3rd. Their new single is called "Drowning". They are now singing it at the end of their concerts. It's a beautiful song! 6/6/01 Nightrider newspapers reported: Nick Carter melts teens' hearts as a crooner with the Backstreet Boys. But it looks as though he could use a few pointers when it comes to cruising the seas. Carter, 21, ran his luxury cabin cruiser aground near the Seven Mile Bridge in Marathon, Fla., on Tuesday - and it was still stuck there Friday. Carter, who owns a home in Marathon, was piloting the 45-foot SeaRay boat 'N Control' from the Atlantic Ocean to Florida Bay when it struck a shallow seagrass bed on the bay side at the east end of the bridge, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Carter told authorities that he wasn't familiar with the area and went on the wrong side of the channel marker. He shut the boat's engine down immediately and was taken ashore. His father, Bob Carter, attempted to assist salvors Thursday in motoring the vessel off the flat, but they were advised by marine authorities to wait for a higher tide in order to prevent further damage to the seagrass, which already had sustained minimal injury, said commission spokesman Steve Acton. Marine biologists from the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary will assess the area to determine what civil fines Carter, who could not be reached for comment, will face for the grounding. They didn't win anything though:( 3/28/01 Backstreet Boys tweak summer tour itinerary More tickets set for release on Saturday (3/31). update: Backstreet Boys have added a number of shows to their upcoming summer North American tour, shuffled others and set on-sale dates for tickets to many of the outing's stops. Tickets to nine of the shows go on sale this weekend, according to tour promoter SFX Entertainment. Details appear in the itinerary below. Strong ticket sales for shows that hit the box office last Saturday (3/24) have resulted in a handful of multi-night stands. The group's previously announced July 9 engagement in Boston has now been extended to a three-night run, and second nights have also been added to the tour's stops in Toronto and Calgary. By adding these two dates Aj, Nick, Howie, Brian & Kevin broke a new record for massive concerts in Mexico, being that only stars like Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, Madonna, David Bowie, Kiss, Metallica, Santana, Ricky Martin, U2, & Rolling Stones had sold out concerts at this venue. Other stars like Michael Jackson and Gloria Estefan have had about 100,000 fans in the Aztec Stadium but a lot of the fans there got free tickets through promotions and contests ran by their record companies and publicists. They are selling like hot cakes The BSB are the first to have sold 165,000 tickets in one tour for the “Foro Sol” venue, which has a capacity for 55,000 per concert. Another interesting fact about the band and their B&B tour is the time in which the tickets were sold. Their devoted fans needed only 24 hours to have all 3 dates sold out, which is a total of 165,000 tickets sold. This is a record for the biggest city in the world Due to this record breaking news a spokesperson for Ocesa (the promoter) hinted that most likely there will another date added for March 26 being that the March 25th concert is almost sold out. If this was the case the U.S. band will have a total of 220,000 Mexicans attend 4 concerts, which is a record and success for any artist in the worlds’ biggest city. Luis Miguel is the only Mexican singer to have come close to this record when he had 200,000 fans in his concerts in 20 consecutive dates at the Auditorio Nacional (National Auditorium). There are very few other acts that have come close to this record. The call’s Premiere Needless to mention is that the fan frenzy caused by the creators of All I Have To Give, In The Spotlight With the Backstreet Boys y Black & Blue, whom are a very popular band with Mexicans of all ages, is really a phenomenon.
