ahead of time i would like to say that if you like anything done by a certain author on this page just say so in my guestbook and i'll see to getting more of their work

love is something to be revered
if you think about it, it's timeless in every sense
not to be unreligious, but it's in every way as powerful as the christian god
for it's been around just as long
even before there was a world, love was there
before adam and eve, it was only the love of god, but love nonetheless
love is in itself a faith
love causes people to live and to die
there is nothing impossible when love is the reward
and so i dedicate this site to love
past, present, and yet to be experienced

QUOTES

To live is like to love
All reason is against it,
And all healthy instinct for it
- Samuel Butler, Life and love

By the time you swear you're his,
Shivering and sighing,
And he vows his passion is infinite, undying-
Lady, make a note of this:
One of you is lying
- unfortunate coincidence by Dorothy Parker

It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;
What is essential is invisible to the eye.
- The Little Prince by Antoine De Saint-Exupery

Even if we never talk again after tonight,
Please know that I am forever changed
Because of who you are
And what you meant to me.
- From the movie Chasing Amy
(I personally dedicate that quote to Jon Graziano)

Love is friendship set on fire.
- Jeremy Taylor

I've learned that you know you're in love when...
you feel the need to tell everyone, even though they haven't asked

Have you ever noticed that the only one who can make you happy enough to stop crying is generally the one who is making you cry?

It's folly to pretend that one wholly recovers
From a dissapointed passion.
Such wonders always leave a scar.
There are faces I can never look upon without emotion;
There are names I can never hear spoken
Without almost starting to cry.
- Longfellow

Love starts with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear.

Don't cry over anyone who won't cry over you.
(i should take this advice)

The hardest thing you can do is to watch the one you love, love somebody else.

Don't frown, you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

Nobody is perfect until you fall in love with them.

Two souls with but a single thought, two hearts that beat as one.
- Von Munch Bellinghausen

The false face must hide what the false heart doth know.
-Shakespeare

I'll think of another way to get him back. After all, tomorrow is another day.
- Scarlett O'Hara (Gone FromThe Wind)

Hateful to me as the gates of Hades is that man who hides one thing in his heart and speaks another.
-Homer (not Simpson)

The hand can only write what the heart can inspire.

POEMS

If thou must love me, let it be for naught
Except for love's sake only. Do not say
"I love her for her smile- -her look- -her way
Of speaking gently, - -for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of ease on such a day- - "
For these things in themselves, Beloved, may
Be changed, or change for thee,- - and love, so wrought,
May be unwrought so. Neither love me for
Thine own dear pity's wiping my cheek dry,- -
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby!
But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou may'st love on, through love's eternity.
- Elizabeth Barrett Browning

How do i love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breath and heigth
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with the love I seem to lose
With my lost saints, - I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! - And if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
-Elizabeth Barrett Browning
(that is personally my favorite love poem, my favorite regular one being Edgar Allen Poe's 'The Raven' and I dedicate 'how do I love thee...' to my boyfriend Jon Craig)

Clumsily, but gently,
I push you from my head,
as I fumble at my desk,
shuffle papers,
try to see and think and do,
when all I find beneath my hand,
my eye,
my heart,
is you.
- Danielle Steel

You run in and out of my simple life,
as though it were a game,
a child's sport,
a sort of forest where you can dart among the trees.
Now I see you, now I don't.
Perhaps you will, perhaps you won't.
The phone lies still.
It means you're happy somewhere else.
The phone then comes alive again.
It means you're tired of the world of men.
You come, you go,
you flit, you fly,
You run into my arms, you lie.
You disappear.
And then I see you,
standing there,
playing peekaboo behind a tree.
Oh, no. No more.
This time I score.
Farewell, poor childish man.
Have your fun.
Live your life.
Play all your games
But not with me.
-Danielle Steel

Sing softly sadly hollow songs of bygone days
and yearning dreams of once an almost time.
Sing gently, love, at eventide,
on wintery nights and summer days
Sing to your other love, my love,
and if our time should come again,
come softly to my door by night.
You'll find me waiting there.
- Danielle Steel

Couples.
Happy couples, clinging close, hugging tight, dancing fast, being one,
laughing loud, singing high, giggling shrill, showing off,
loving love, living hard,
and making my heart break and snap and die
as I watch them from this spot where I still stand alone.
- Danielle Steel

I offer him silence and take back despair.
I look for a rainbow and find only dust.
I wish for a dream and wake up in a trance.
I cling to a smile and choke on a sob.
I tender my hand and bring back air.
I reach for the man and find no one there.
- Danielle Steel

Your silence hurts,
it weighs heavily, damnit,
I cared so bloody much, I hurt, I gave,
I cried, I wanted, needed, hoped,
the scope of it all still overwhelms me
as I paint portraits in the sky,
seeing you in my life's eye,
painting in your presence for a thousand years to come,
wanting, wishing, hoping, seeing,
yet frightened that you'll fade away...
and then, trembling, I realize once more...
there was no call from you today.
-Danielle Steel

Did you mean to crash into my life this way,
leaving everything so topsy-turvy as you left?
Do you mean to tell me that you didn't know I'd care?
Did you really think I'd laugh and walk away?
How small you must have thought me,
if even for a moment you believed I could
smell the roses in the air and taste champagne again,
and walk away at midnight to rake my leaves and give up life again.
- Danielle Steel

I dread you now, your touch
and the smile that doesn't warm me anymore.
I dread you now, your hand that frightens,
makes me flinch and hurts me to the core.
I dread you now, your anger
quicker than the laughter that we knew.
I dread you now, dread the sight
of all that I no longer see in you.
-Danielle Steel
(can you tell I like her poetry yet ---,--'--@)

Okay,
okay so I'll be cool.
At least I can pretend to be,
since you can't see me
near the phone,
or lying in the bath at night,
wondering if you'll marry me.
-Danielle Steel

Are you comfortable?
Can you breathe?
Two pillows or one?
Is my arm crushing yours?
Is your leg wedged too tight under mine?
Are my hipbones too pointy?
My nipples too small?
Oh, stranger asleep at my side here tonight,
are you warm?
Am I safe?
Could you love me at all?
-Danielle Steel

It doesn't matter at all if you call,
if you care, if you dare,
if you dream,
if you sing in a tree.
It doesn't matter at all,
not at all
.... just to me.
-Danielle Steel

How could your lips be so soft
as they brush against mine,
and yet it mean nothing to you?
How could your eyes
speak volumes to me
and yet they will say nothing true?
How could your heart
beat in your chest
as waves do upon the sea?
How could we be
world's apart
and still you lay here beside me?
- kiki

For the life of me
I can't see why,
you touch me and kiss me
yet force me to sigh.
You hold me and sleep
so close by my side,
yet you leave in the morning
and force me to cry.
I can't figure out
why your eyes seem so far,
and they force mine to stay so sad blue.
For all of the things
that i willingly give,
there is much
that you force me to do.
-kiki

Hope is a thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings a tune without words
And never stops at all.
And sweetest, in the gale, is heard
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That keeps so many warm.
I've heard it in the chilliest land
And on the strangest sea
Yet, never, in extremity
It ask a crumb of me.
- Emily Dickenson

Chipmunks jump, and
Greensnakes slither.
Rather burst than
Not be with her.
Bluebirds fight, but
Bears are stronger.
We've got fifty
Years or longer.
Hoptoads hop, but
Hogs are fatter.
Nothing else but
Us can matter.
- Donald Hall

Into love and out again,
Thus I went and thus I go.
Spare your voice, and hold your pen:
Well and bitterly I know
All the songs were ever sung,
All the words were ever said;
Could it be, when I was young,
Someone dropped me on my head.
- Dorothy Parker

... It was great seeing Annie again, and I realized what a terrific person she was and how much fun
it was knowing her and I thought of that old joke, you know, this, this guy goes to psychiatrist and
says, Doc, uh, my brother's crazy,he thinks he's a chicken and, uh, the doctor says, well why don't
you turn him in? And the guy says, I would, but I need the eggs. Well, i guess that's pretty much
how I feel about relationships. You know, they're totally irrational and crazy and absurd and, but
uh, I guess we keep going through it.... because.... most of us need the eggs.
- Woody Allen

Loose their flame
Kiss me softley
And love me more
Embrace me gently
In your heart's core
And hold me tightly
Till I want no more
(I actually don't know who wrote that, if anyone knows leave a message in my guest book or e-mail me)

I miss you already and you're not even gone.
I can't feel your love, now, and I feel so alone.
I can't pull you back as you slip further away.
It hurts me more, it gets worse everyday.
I want to pull you clost and hold you really tight.
But now when we touch, it just doesn't feel right.
It's now come to something we can neither deny.
We don't want to say it, but it's almost... goodbye.
