| AMAZON.COM is a book company on the internet that is enjoying unbridled enthusiasm. While enjoying a huge stock price soaring through the roof...little do investors know about the lousy ways in which its DC workers are treated. DC in Amazon terms distribution center, where all of the book get shipped from. Amazon uses TEMPS with nose rings and hair color as pawns in their scheme to make fat profits for Jeff Bezos CEO and megalomaniac a fortune. Temp companies are contracted to bring in loads of people who Amazon sells their success story to, and then from that point onwards pins temp against temp in order to make everyone compete to get the elusive " Contract" I will week after week put on this page anonymous horror stories of working under this yolk. Amazon.com is one really wretched company and people who wish to invest had better beware. May 17 1998---I appreciate the email insupport of what I am doing and by the # of hits to this page in less than one month am sure some of you will....not be joining the Jeff bezos Bandwagon. There have been detractors...and to them I say...the internet gives me the ability to really clue people in on work practices that are so despicable.. people need to know this. Amazon.Com is among thousands of companies who abuse the temporary employment workforce. When I and others signed up it seemed humorous at the time that we as temps had to sign security and exchange documents..not to mention the companies practices which may influence investment...and to smile while the cameras of the many news crews were on. We worked hard and for a paycheck 7.50 hr. What realy got to me was the overtime. The main man of publicity a dreadlocked publicity succubus of a jerk told us at the beginning you don't have to work overtime but those who do have a better chance of staying on. So many of us slaved and even worked a double week..however in amazon's eyes you have to give up your life in order to prove your worth as an employee. Excessive overtime is not legal when coopted into doing it. Amazon has an unwritten policy that causes temps to fight temps for the so called contracts and this is one way they bait them ..by saying we highly " encourage " overtime and if you didn't give it you would find a pinkslip in hand soon after. I encourage any investor to look at Amazon.com with a very suspect eye. Can they keep on with this success, clearly their stock is overrated... their leader Bezos is a megalomaniac of a boss. Support your local mom and pop store let Amazon die on the vine.
