Star Craft Brood Wars




Review

Brood war is on of my favorite games. They fixed up just about every bug in Starcraft, even the campaign editor is better now. Every race has 2 new units and protoss can build dark templars(but they are slightly weaker then the dark templer found in the original). Terran and Zerg have upgrades to already existant units. One more thing, unless mentioned against, all stratagies in the original can be applied in brood war. I suggest you read the original page before you read this one.

Basic Strategy



All 3 races have been given an air to air units which is fairly effective. For the Zerg though, it is not neccesary because of the already existant scourges. There really isn't any big change in stratagy but just be sure to use you new units and abilities/upgrades. Also, DO NOT ATTEMPT WHAT SOME MORRONS DID! Don't replace you army with your new units, I'd say they just contribute about 20% of you attack force and yes ONLY 20%!!! No more.

Terran

I just LOVE terrans, even more after they are equiped with new units. Don't you just hate those enemy guardians? They come and destroy everything you have. The worst of all, there are absolutely no units that can match their range.. UNTIL NOW. Charon Booster are now avalible so use them. Be sure to use ALL the abilities of an medic. Even if you keep your guys in bunkers, have medics around to blind detectors/spellcasters coming into your base. When attacking with just tanks, BRING AN MEDIC ALONG. Medics can retore those nasty lockdowns, plagues, mealstorms, ensnares, optical flares, acid spores and statis lock(maybe, I'm not sure). Valkries are awesome air to air units. Get about 6 valkries and go overlord hunting. They are also effective against a large group of suprior air units since they tend to "stack" on top of each other(valkires do splash).

Zerg


Zergs got an ground to ground unit and an air to air. They also have upgrades for the ultralisk (which was already powerful enough). The lurker can be required at an Lair Stage. Believe me, no one would want to storm a base guarded with lurkers at choke points.


Protoss


Hey if your toss go big go extravigent with 45 probes 12 on vespene, 30 on minerals and 3 on building. My suggestion is get 12+ Carriers, 8 Star Ports, 3 Arbiters, 1 Probe , 2 Observers and 3 Corsairs. So who gives money to the save the zerg foundation (nobody) , so who cares kill em. I took out 3 comps with this team and I could have killed my allys too. I only lost 2 Arbiters so who cares a few interceptors here and there and you have 25000+ gas and 35000+ minerals.

Guess what you cheating little scum.. THERE ARE NO CHEATS STUPID!!
(actully, the cheats are the same as Starcraft)

Well there is one in zerg mode use " Radio Free Zerg " it gives you a weird disco song only availible in BW.
