Welcome to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 54 in Gunnison, Colorado. We are located in the mountains of Colorado at an elevation of 7703. Our units address is 501 E. Virginia Ave.
We are an organization of women organized to assist the many verterans in our community. We are devoted to our veterans who have fought and who are now fighting to keep our country free.
We have a monthly meeting on the second Wednesday night except June, July and August. These months we have no meeting. Unless a special meeting is called by the Unit President.
We are involved and dedicated to the necessary teaching of our future leaders of this wonderful nation. We are proud of our country and our freedom.
We would like to let you know that one of our members, Elizabeth Deming ran for State President for the Department of Colorado. She was installed into office on Sunday June 24, 2001 at our Department Convention. This was held at the Mariott at I-25 & Hampden in Denver, CO. We are really proud of Elizabeth. Danny DuMiller from Post 23 in Denver was installed as Department Commander for 2001-2002. We are certainly proud of both Elizabeth & Danny. They both have worked very hard to get to these positions. This is certainly going to be a fun filled and productive year. We really have a great Team in place for the year. Meghan Lewis was installed as the JR. Auxiliary President, and Bill Abbey was installed as the SAL Commander. This is a wonderful team. Congratulations all!!
We are now having joint meetings with the Legion and SAL. These are held on the second Wednesday nights, at the present time. All members are welcome to attend these meetings. We began these in the hopes of getting more members active and also we feel this is the best way for all members to know what is going on in the Legion Family. We must never forget that WE ARE FAMILY. We all must work together to keep this Post, Unit and Squadron strong.

Our next event will take place on Wednesday Feb 13, 2002. We are having a Pot Luck dinner and the Boys & Girls State Delegates from 2001 will be in attendance. They will present their reports. We encourage all members to attend this wonderful and informative event. This will show you some of our work in progress.
