FOREWORD BY MISS AMERICA, 1999
"I am so thrilled for and proud that Jan has written this book. Living with diabetes is challenging, yet rewarding. Her story holds much inspiration for me and the millions of others living with diabetes. I have just passed my first decade with the disease and hope to tell the stories of many more, like Jan." A C.L.I.P. of Poems: Communication, Life/living, Inspiration, People/pet
This collection of poems also written by Janet Elliott Hughey, occurred over a ten-year span and is as diverse as one in the shape of a Christmas tree to one about a cat. The individuality poem discusses the four temperaments; two are about popsicles and sandwiches. A few poems deal with shopping trips and negatives that are important to inspire improvements. Eight of the 72 poems deal directly with diabetes and its hurdles, including Boiled Frogs and Lazy Dogs, and The Unseen Hat. Some people in Jan's life have memories set in verse, while some of the other poems squeeze the heart until juice leaks from the eyes, evoking praises to Him. Most are illustrated with colored photographs. This 108-page, 8.5" x 11" is available below. There is only one poem per page, but some verses extend over three pages due to the LARGER PRINT, BOLD. Both books make excellent gifts and are a matched set. You will not be ashamed to give either or both.
Endorsement by Dr. Gene Carpenter
Author and Professor of Biblical Literature
"A touch of life, vibrancy and sensitivity, joy and hope, an eye and ear sensitive to life and living---all of this and more are encountered in the enlightening and insightful experiences that await you in these poems. There is something here for everyone." More inside book.

AUTHOR'S SIGNATURE
If you would like the dustjacket signed by the author, send it to P. O. Box 1088, Granger, IN 46530-1088. Include a self-addressed envelope with enough postage affixed for the return. Since Tom Brokaw signed The Greatest Generation on the front, that is where the autograph will be, unless requested elsewhere on the jacket. APPRECIATION
I must give credit to Starr Wendt who designed both front covers with some of my input, and cleaned up the pictures to cause them to be of excellent quality. Thanks also go to those who allowed me to quote them or include a picture, and the cyberpals who begged, urged, cajoled, and demanded that I publish these two books, namely: Chrissy, DJ, Gail, Jana, Linda, Missi, Sandra, Sharon, Shirley, and Sybil. Special thanks go to Miss America for her kind gesture of providing an exclusive picture and the foreword. Thanks ever so much to all the above, I could not have done any of it without any of you. May you all have Sonshine in your days. Click the banner to learn how to publish your own books.

The cover coordinates with the two books above, with an hour glass depicting TIME.

UPDATE: Our son lost his life to esophageal cancer 11/7/05, therefore, I put together a booklet of Dave's Journey Home to document the events from diagnosis to death. Included in this 70-page booklet are the sermon notes, synopsis of his life, and colored pictures including his last one 36 hours before passing. $10.00 includes shipping/handling to the same address above. Checks made to TSL-CLIP.
A Cent$ible Buffet
I could not resist and did another book! A Cent$ible Buffet. This book has 65-pages on cardstock, is comb-bound with laminated cover, 8.5x11" and tells how we fed about 200 guests for less than 50c apiece for our daughter's wedding in 1984. The cake for 250 guests was about $22 out of pocket to a professional baker. Recipes are included (18) as well as many tips and hints and updated ideas for the 21st century. Lots of colored pictures. $18.00 includes shipping and handling. Ordering instructions are the same as above.
HAVE A NICE ETERNITY
