
The American Eagles Baseball Club was founded in 1984 to travel internationally, promote the game of baseball worldwide, and experience cultural exchange through athletic competition on the baseball diamond. The American Eagles Baseball Club is a nonprofit organization and all contributions to the Eagles are a tax-deductible donation.
The 2008 team is currently being formed and applications are being accepted from qualified players of ages 16 to 21 years.
The 2008 Eagles will be coached by Mike Oseguera and Don Trujillo. Coach Oseguera is also an Assistant Coach at U.C.San Diego. and brings a wealth of baseball knowledge and experience to the team. Coach Trujillo has previously been a Head Coach and Assistant Coach on the Eagles on several tours of Australia.
In 2004 the Eagles were coached in Australia by former Major Leaguers Rene Gonzales (13 years in MLB) and Bret Barberie (6 years in MLB and 1988 Olymipc Gold medal winner on the USA Olympic Baseball Team). Rene Gonzales is now a Minor League Manger with the Milwaukee Brewers organzition since 2007 and Bret Barberie is was an assistant coach at Cypress College in 2007.
In August 2007 Chad Addison was the Head Coach for the American Eagles Baseball Club that won the Great Barrier Reef Tournament in Cairns, Queensland. Coach Addison was also an Eagles' player on the 1998 tour of Australia and is currently an Assistant Coach at the University of California, San Diego.

Applications from qualified players are currently being accepted for the future trips to Sweden & Australia. In 2002, 2003, & 2007 the Eagles participated in the Major League Baseball Australian Academy located on the Gold Coast in Southern Queensland.
Over 1,000 players have competed abroad as members of the American Eagles. Four former Eagles have been number 1 draft picks in Major League Baseball. Over 30 have gone on to play professional baseball, and several have become Major Leaguers, including Phil Nevin, Bret Boone, Johnny Estrada, Kyle Abbot, Pat Ahearn, Dennis Springer, Chris Pritchett,and John Zuber.
The Eagles travel to Australia annually to compete in international baseball tournaments for players under 22 years. The cost of the trip is under $4,000 from Los Angeles. All experienced players with an excellent record of character and citizenship may apply to participate.
The Eagles are sanctioned and operated by Sports Promotions International and the USA/Australia Baseball Exchange. International sanctioning is provided by Baseball USA and Baseball Australia.
